Favourite songs for tears & cheers.....
Hi all, we all know Abba did some great happy/sad bitter/sweet songs but I was wondering what were everyone's favourite HAPPY songs & SAD Songs, whether from Abba or anyone else....
I'm thinking here of those songs that we reach for automatically time and time again because we know they're always just perfect for our mood, whether we're feeling like shutting the curtains & hiding or tearing them apart and shouting out to the world our joy!
Anyway, maybe you've good some good suggestions....
For me some songs come immediately to mind.
SAD SONGS:
King of Sorrow - Sade
Honestly OK - Dido
Agnetha's Blue Mix version of If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind
Goodbye to Love - The Carpenters
Captured - New Zealand's very own Bic Runga
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad - Moby
Missing - Everything But The Girl
You Know What I Mean - Frida
HAPPY SONGS:
It's Getting Better/Make Your Own Kind Of Music - Mamma Cass
Mambo - Helena Paparizou
Flashdance, what a feeling - Irene Cara
What About Livingstone? - Abba
Closer to fine - The Indigo Girls
Life is a flower - Ace of Base
Things Can Only Get Better - Kylie
That's to name a few. Of course there are so many. Would love to read your choices.
Cheers Merton

My number one sad song is The Winner Takes It All. It makes me feel better after listening to it, but therefore I really feel like crying. I don't really like listening to music when I feel down, so I don't have much songs to mention, only Sometimes When I Am Dreaming maybe.
My happy songs depend on my reason(s) for being happy! I like listening to some Dutch cabaret a lot, or maybe a song by The Cure. On my mp3 player is always a list of various artists and most of times I choose a song from that list in this case.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestions Merton!

Thanks for your replies. There sure are plenty to choose from. Another "saddie" to add to the list must be Rainy Days & Mondays by The Carpenters.
