Hallo im neuen Forum!
Anbei ein paar interessante Bilder von Kleinteilen die an einer Absturzstelle eines Amerikanischen Jagdflugzeuges in Niederösterreich gefunden wurden. Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, daß es sich dabei um eine P38 handelt. Beweise habe ich dafür aber noch keine. Ich suche schon seit längerem nach einer Ersatzteilliste für die P38. Wer kann weiterhelfen?
Der Teil mit der Aufschrift "IMGTRUMM" und "77" hat auf der Rückseite die Prägung: 3276

Is that the rest of a AN-N4 or AN-N6 gun camera (forth photo from the top) ?

Here the translate:
This parts was found on a crash site from US-Fighter in Austria, possible a P-38.
Kurtl is also looking for a P-38 spare part catalogue, who can help ?
The part with the lable "IMGTRUMM" and "77" have on the backside the stamp "3276"

Auf Bild #1 befinden sich geschmolzenes Aluminium.
Die Bilder #6 und #7 zeigen eine Schlauchklemme aus Edelstahl.
Kannst Du von dem Bild #4 eine Detailaufnahme des Typenschild machen ?

I think we must read "Instrument" rather than "IMGTRUMM".

Hi Kurt,
i agree with Olivier, it looks like the word is "Instrument".
In photo #4. the black object at bottom middle, looks like it has a Data Plate? if so, it might help if you posted whats on it.

I agree with you guys too. The letters mean "INSTRUMM..." Too bad that I didn't noticed that on my own. Thank's a lot!
@ pathfinder: Thank you for helping me with the pictures. What did I do wrong? I got some further pictures of new parts from the same crashplace. Will try to put it in here.
There is something strange about the melted aluminium parts. I know an eyewitness of the crash of the american aircraft. He even saw the german single engined fighter which shot the american down. He said that the last one never cought fire. Not in the air, nor on the ground after the crash. He was at the place maybe 15 minutes after it happened and never saw any fire. Question: From where comes the melted aluminium?

Hi Kurt,
about the melted aluminium I think it came from the cutting of this aircraft.
Most larger parts from crash aircraft were with a blowtorch cut from the german. After that the parts were melted in factories for new aircraft parts.
Otherwise it is possible that this aircrafts burned nevertheless...
Ich vermute das die geschmolzenen Aluminiumteile vom zerlegen des Flugzeuges stammt. Größere Teile wurden für den Abtransport oftlmals mit dem Schweißbrenner zerlegt und später eingeschmolzen um neue Flugzeugteile herzustellen.
Andererseits ist es möglich das das Flugzeug doch gebrannt hat...
