The Stalker?
Okej...so on "Waterloo", Björn sang "Watch Out". Does anyone agree that he sounds just a bit stalker-like? Almost [warning: don't read this name if you are a true Agnetha fan...it may drive you into a rage] "gvdg"-like... [for those of you who don't know me, I refuse to capitalize or type this person's full name out...] Anyway, just wanted to bounce that off of you guys... moving right along...

Absolutely, Sir!
At least two of my friends had boyfriends like that! Horrible.

I can't help it, Scotty, but I find every reference to that madman very hard to bear. I would like to see that he is not discussed at all at this place and treated as non-existent.
It helps to keep me from :puke:

No, I don't find anything "stalker-like" in that song. It is more like a frustrated lover spitting out his boredom.
There's another ABBA song "Crazy World" that someone said was about a gay relationship. I read the lyrics a few times but could not find any hints in that song about anything gay, except if the unexpected brother Joe had a secret relationship with the storyteller (the I).
Quite a lot of ABBA songs have simple lyrics. The complicated interpretations come from fans who read into lyrics something that there is not or wasn't intentionally meant to be. I suppose any song could be interpreted in any way you like.
To me "Every Breath You Take" is a real stalker song.

"Every Breath you Take" is one of the more mis-interpreted songs of all time - it is often played at weddings, dispite being clearly about a stalker
I once attended a wedding where the bride dedicated a song to her husband - the song? "I will always love you" (from the "Bodyguard") which is contains the line "if I stay, I will only be in your way" - very romantic :?
But to stay on topic (would hate to cause the topic to be locked), I try to avoid fitting thoughts and feelings to the songs. Try to find something that isn't there. "Watch out" is a good song (don't kill me), but like most of the early stuff it wasn't to be taken literally.

But, just so we do stay on topic, exactly what is this ex-girlfriend "watching out" for? To me, it sounds just a wee bit ominous...
It feels so good to be back with my peeps...
Sir Scott has returned from his quest for the Holy Moose droppings, bringing a little friendly advice...moose bytes kan hurt, and be pretty nasty, too. I remain Lord of the Smurfs, Thor the Berserker, Slayer of the Ten Thousand Tse-tse Flies, lover of ABBA, Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Helen and Arrival.

Actually, it must be someone rejected and as Anne said, frustrated to the point of making him threat the poor girl. He's tired of waiting and his patience is fading..
I also think it is a good rock song. If any "cool" rock band sang it, their fans might like the song. (maybe with slight changes here and there)
It is definitely ominous..

I have listerned to the lyrics, I suppose it is the way we all view them all differently.
I also thought crazy world was about a guy thinking another man had moved in with his girlfriend, only to find out it was her brother, Well that is the way I see the song anyway.

Maxi-saxi, that is what Crazy World is about. Well, maybe he just thinks his girlfriend has been seeing another guy but not living with him.

I think "crazy World" is about a guy who is stupid enough to believe his girlfriend when she claims the man leaving her house early in the morning is her brother.

Yes, Team ABBA and Johnny, I agree too.
That man has some serious issues.... and I reckon he should fall in a hole and rot. Kind of mean but I guess the majority of people on here will 100% agree!
Anyway back to the topic! I guess I would say it can sound like that, but from past experience, I have completely misenterpreted songs, so I wouldn't listen to little ol' me!

Shouldn't really mock the afflicted. Some mental health issues patently going on there so he needs help. Still, no one (least of all our blonde goddess) needs the hassle, do they?
Enough said.

It is nice to treat him as a non-existant. But at the same time it might be better post something about the Stalker every once in a while, so that if he ever does frequent any ABBA site he will see that people have not forgotten about him and will be watching him. That might help as a deterent.

Although your sentiment is well-intentioned, I think it's better, and easier, for everyone if we just leave the topic alone. There are good reasons for this.
