ABBA and The Teletubbies: The controversy goes on...
Due to the serious  nature of this subject, I've decided that it deserves it's own thread. The debate is as follows:

Yesterday I noticed a rather uncanny resemblance between ABBA's performance of Voulez-Vous on the 1979 300 Millones show, and a video clip of the popular kids show called "The Teletubbies." Look for yourself:

Here's the ABBA video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMwrZjP3YT8

Here are the Teletubbies:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC1tikkotVU&mode=related&search=

They're nearly identical! Could ABBA and the Teletubbies be one and the same? Is that really Bjorn, Benny, Angetha, and Frida underneath those bizarre costumes?

What do you think?
johnny59 - 10.12.2006, 23:03

What I said in the other thread:

Dinky Pinky for you, Agnetha for me. Frida is for Pierre.

 :D
Cronus - 10.12.2006, 23:09

It's Tinky Winky. Agnetha is Po. No doubt about it.
johnny59 - 10.12.2006, 23:31

Perhaps then I'm Pinky Tinky? I'd love to be Winky Dinky if Agnetha is Po.
Cronus - 10.12.2006, 23:35

I'm not just saying that ABBA looks like the Teletubbies; I think it's entirely possible that Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha, and Anni-Frid ARE the Teletubbies!

No one really knows who it is underneath those costumes, what if it is in fact the former members of ABBA? Who knows? Maybe the long-sought-after reunion has been taking place right under our noses!

I'm going to have to disagree with you, Cronus. They look nothing like the Teletubbies! First of all, the teletubbies look like savages to begin with, and compared with ABBA, they look like mongrels. Such pathetic and ugly little creatures! And I don't see any resemblence of Agnetha's and Frida's outfits to the Teletubbies' costumes. They're just body suits, nothing I'd ever have the courage to wear but something that I think they were able to put off well, unlike the Teletubbies who are nothing but big chubby beasts.

There! She said it!
Cronus - 11.12.2006, 00:11

*gasp!*

That's a pretty intolerant viewpoint of Teletubbies, Mamamia512! If I were a Teletubby, I'd be waving banners and marching in the streets to protest your prejudicial statements.

I for one support equal rights and opportunities for all Teletubbies.
johnny59 - 11.12.2006, 00:13

There is no part of the forum guideline that prohibits Teletubbie bashing . . .
MammaMia512 - 11.12.2006, 00:15

Cronus and Johnny, you two are making me laugh. :excited:

Well if the Teletubbies will protest in the streets, I'll just have to laugh at them because they can't talk like human beings. And then I'll show them how Agnetha and Frida look. They (the Teletubbies) could use a few pointers.
abbascots - 11.12.2006, 00:31

Rather funny debate,No Frida Benny Agnetha or Bjorn dont look anything remotely like the teletubbies,The teletubbies are four funny actors and actresses who dressed up as childrens characters,This programme is well loved by children around the world,Frida and Agnetha both looked stunning in there performance on this show,I do agree both ladies where a little revealing in those costumes but neverless they had the figures and bodies to hold them well Regards johnsteven

What a great fancy dress idea, shove a blonde wig on the purple teletubby and go grooving in the Shadow Lounge London! Look at me I'm a looney!

hello

this is such an inane and pointless topic i will not reply to it........................................................................................................

...........................................................................................................DOH !!

gary :D
Lammer - 11.12.2006, 03:33

I am just thinking about what courage it took to wear those body suits!
In the comments on the 'Tubbies video, someone wrote to take a look at LaaLaa's bottom, so I guess we know to whom to compare her!

Shall we compare ABBA to the Wiggles, next? Murray plays guitar (Bjorn), Jeff plays keyboards (Benny), so that leaves Anthony and soon-to-be-leaving Greg as Agnetha and Frida, but who is who? I wonder if they are ABBA fans, since ABBA was so big in Australia.

:)
Cronus - 11.12.2006, 04:19

Actually, Lammer, I was thinking we could compare/contrast the physical choreography and overall aesthetic qualities of ABBA with those of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

Ok, not really!
Maxi-saxi - 11.12.2006, 04:35

f*** Me! Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of you have gone nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teletubbies & ABBA
The costumes look nothing alike, even the colours, Any way What wonderful figures the Girls have, same can't be said about teletubbies?

Cronus - 11.12.2006, 04:52

I disagree, Maxi. Agnetha and Frida's outfits look quite similar to Tinky Winky and Po. I believe there is a conspiracy afoot here.

As for the part about me being crazy...well, you may be right about that one!

:D
Cronus - 11.12.2006, 05:34

Furthermore, I discovered that the Teletubbies show was created by Ragdoll Productions, a company that founded in 1984 - only a year after ABBA allegedly broke up. That's just too much of a coincidence for even a skeptic such as myself. I believe it is possible - no - highly likely, that ABBA really never did break up. Instead, they decided that, from then on, they would only perform in disguise, and quietly, secretly set about preparing for their big comeback - as the Teletubbies!
Maxi-saxi - 11.12.2006, 05:40

You could well be right there!

Just maybe?
And do not worry yourself I am crazy!

Maxi-saxi

So welcome to the club
Didi - 11.12.2006, 10:34

ROFL,
Now that would be funny, ABBA never went away and they are daily in our TV at children's hour! Which reminds me, I must go and watch those Lego videos again, what a hoot!

So this topic is good for something at last . . .

Just for the records: the non-German speaking may not realize that "Po" is the German expression for "bottom". So you say Agnetha was "Po"?
Didi - 11.12.2006, 19:52

Can't say I know the individual names of the Tuletubbies, still now that I am reliably informed that they are in fact ABBA in costumes, I shall endeavour to learn their names. What next Bratz dolls with 70's platforms called Agnetha & Frida?
hehe

Well, I'm glad to see that my theory has been getting support from the other members of the site. Unfortunately, being a whistleblower is a two-edged sword. Yes, it's a wonderful thing to finally reveal the truth about the ABBA/Teletubbies connection, but now I have to wonder how it is they've managed to keep it a secret for so long, and what measures the members of ABBA might take in order to protect that secret. Needless to say, I should start keeping my doors locked from now on!

Ok.

I'll go and call the doctors in the white coats . . .

Cronus - 11.12.2006, 22:38

LOl! Who knows, Didi! That could be Agnetha and Benny sitting inside a black van outside your home, surveilling you with a zoom camara lens and a high-gain audio microphone.

They may have even bugged your house. You should move.
Didi - 11.12.2006, 22:41

Oh those people outside the house! I thought it was those men from "the big expanse in space" looking for a reason to come and raid my home!

jejeje

More likely you will be arrested for heresy and doomed to share your bed with teletubbie Po instead of Agnetha for the rest of your life, the little creature continueing to whisper into your ears: "C'mon, darling, don't be so petty. It's me! You confirmed it a hundred times!"

Then you will hate the day you started this topic!

And don't worry, when it's saying "You don't wanna hurt me! Baby, don't worry, I ain't gonna let you..." It just wants to play! :x
Maxi-saxi - 13.12.2006, 09:40

OK!

The TIGER is behind you, The EAGLE is above you. Where is The DOVE?

May be he was knocked unconcious by the Boomerang!!!
