Gidday, I'm Beach which is short for Beachhead!
My real name is Rod Jeffery, but I've been known as Beachhead for a very long time now. mainly because it is the name that I have used as a stage name when singing since around the late-1970s.
I live in Portland which is a fraction over 100 miles (160klms) west of Sydney and around 980 metres above sea level. We occasionally get snow in Winter, not as much as many of you do of course, the temperatures run anywhere from -8ºC to about +10ºC during that period and in Summer can get as high as 40ºC.
The whole State of New South Wales has been in drought for about the last six years or more and if things don't improve very shortly water restrictions will be extended from where they are now.
It's probably the first time ever that even Sydney has felt the pinch when it comes to how much water is available!
Although I rarely perform nowadays, I made my living for quite some time from singing both 'Blues' & 'Jazz' with various bands and have released at least two or three CDs.

Possibly, I should also add that I Site Manage Music Discussion, another forum that covers multiple varieties of music at http://www.music-discussion.com/index.php and a few of our members have visited here and joined after meetin up with rhun over there earlier today!

These days I don't do many actual gigs and I guess you could say that I am very much a 'guest musician/singer'! There are quite a few recordings of such performances and I will certainly let you know when I have uploaded any of them. In the meantime you can visit the 'recordings' page at my 'own' site and check out some of what i have done thus far! :wink:
