So, hello to everybody!
I think I'm the first girl here!!! so, I only want to say that rock is the best thing in the world....I'm very frustrated about the hip hop and r'n'b that is shown every day at tv :cry: !!! I miss Fast Forward and Onxy.tv very much...I can only see good music on mondays at mtv spin! Where's the good music? I hope here's someone who share my depression...please let me know :wink:
I also would be happy about some other opinions...or what are your favourite bands? Are there some I still don't know???

Yeah...
I wish that MTV and Viva shows more Rock and Metal and not only Hip Hop, R'n'B or the others.
It's so a wonderfull kind of music and I don't know why the television stations don't play it.
They're enough people on the world who listen Rock and Metal and I think that I'm not alone with my opinion.

First I have to say I prefer HH, but I also dislike the usual stuff shown on tv.
But I think the main problem that made FF and onyx.tv go is that at the moment everything related to HH seems to be cool to media.
I don't now how long it will take but I think this hype will come down as every other hype and good Rock will come back.
On the other hand i really like mash ups like collision course of Jay-Z and Linkin Park and get back of Ludacris and Sum 41, who got back to the tradition of Run DMC and Aerosmith ... good Rap and good Rock. But I think it is hard to make Nu Metal main stream so tv would show it. Beside of Linkin Park and LB there are only a few Nu Metal Bands who made it.
I also miss FF but I think stuff like that will come back when the HH hype comes down again.

what about the good old rock times? wasn't that kinda great ?
thus, I basically prefer the older stuff, meaning deep purple and ac/dc (might be the best examples to mention) and such...also uriah heep, pink floyd and so on...there are quite a lot which deserve it to be mentioned!
those are, imo, incredible rock-legends which honestly deserved it to be honored! they made REAL music imo, not for the money, not for the others, they did it cuz they wanted to do it !
who agrees with me here? ..or, who doesn't ?

I agree, and this isn't just about rock music, real music is always from the heart of those who do it ... if you start to depend on money and listeners and you have to change your style, just to sell, the quality of the music will become worse and worse, no matter if you do rock music or any other kind.

But I agree, the music has to come from the heart of course...and on tv there are only people who sing for the money and want to become famous! that sucks...someone should start a music revolution :D

I wouldn't say everything on tv in general is only commercial.
There are probably many young bands trying to bring their sound to a large crowd to entertain lots of people so they appreciate the tv appeareance ... but with the time they are changed by the fame ...

And your music revolution ... maybe start yourself, make music from the heart or support bands who do that.
