Do You Collect ONLY CD's or Other ABBA Merchandise
Do yo collect only CD's & by that I mean only offical re-rereleases. He He
I collect the odd release by Universal but I do not buy every Cd they decide to release Of ABBA.

Or do you still search for Vynil singles Albums, Cassettes, Books Collectors Items.

I Now try and collect Collectors Items in pristine condition, I have had to turn down many ABBA Merchandise because it is not up to my high standard.

DVD's and the Odd Vynil picture release or vynil Album,

I have over 500 Albums all in excellent condition.

And of course Books

I do not bother with cassettes nor posters, cheap & nasty re-re-re issues from Universal

Just Intrested

Hi Maxi Saxi

Well up until last year I was Happy with Just the Cds, I then brought a record Player, then started collecting the Albums (again after giving them away years ago!) quickly followed by the Singles (same here). I now am considering (even though I have more collecting of singles to do) collecting the cds, which I havent got. even the ones made by hallmark and cheaper brands lol, I was even thinking of collecting the tapes now too, as these are getting rarer and rarer. but we will see? the things would have to be in good order too.

I dont really bother with the books or soaps dolls etc

its the Music I tend to go for

I have been very Lucky on Ebay and look for the Abba fans there, their Merchandise tends to be A1

Collecting
I collect DVD official releases, CD's and some LP's, although I have not owned a record player for about 15 years!...I also like ABBA books, as I like to read different writers opinions and styles of writing about the band.

I do also have interest in official ABBA souvenier itmes, but do not yet have anything except for the "ABBA ANNUALS" of which I own nice condition 1978-1982 issues, I still need the last one the 1983 one)....I keep getting "sniped" on EBAY..every once in a while a 1983 annual comes up but I have not won one yet!!!

Looking for unusual ABBA items like pins, caps, socks, T shirts etc.....

Hi Everyone,

I collect anything and evrything ABBA.
I guess being in Australia, it can sometimes be easier. I have a lot of merchandise from the 1976 promotional tour and of course the 1977 tour.
I won't go into detail with everything but this will give you some idea of my collection.
I have vinyl albums and singles (some autographed by all 4), vinyl picture discs, cassettes, 8 track cartrages, CD's (including boxed sets), MP3's, DVD's, videos, books, annuals, official magazines, t shirts, soap, watch, collector plate, posters, calenders, badges, postcards, tour medalion, mirror, swap cards, scrapbooks, fabric wall hangings, pillow cases, cushions, bookmarks, cassette carrying case, school bag, jigsaw puzzles, colouring book, greeting cards, tour program and ticket stubb.
Everything listed is in mint or near mint condition. As I have said before in another topic, I would have had the ABBA dolls, but as a 7 year old, I told my parents that "boys don't have dolls". I am realy kicking myself now. They are in my oppinion, the most valuable and collectable ABBA item.

Cheers! Berg.

I don´t collect everything, just the songs!

If there is a new compilation with old material I don´t buy it.

If there is something new on it I look for it. For example I have bought the Arrival DeLuxe version because of the DVD-Bonus.

I buy ABBA books from time to time but I don´t collect them.

Toni :)

i mostly rely on my DVDs for immediate ABBA entertainment. i do collect vinyl as it can be inexpensive and you can find interesting stuff. plus, you get those great old album covers.

MarryMeAgnetha - 17.11.2006, 02:13

I just get CDs and DVDs. The other stuff is a lot of fun, I'm sure, but I'm way too cheap to pay premium prices for collectibles.

On the other hand, does anyone know where to get ABBA T-shirts? Modern ones are fine. They don't have to be vintage.

Simsalabim - 02.04.2008, 19:28

I mainly collect DVDs and books but I have some LPs and other stuff too.
Joe - 02.04.2008, 23:48

Actually just the songs and videos/TV clips and some special releases. I have bought very few other items like the most important books, a puzzle :D , a couple of promotion pictures and some issues of the ABBA magazine from 1981/1982. I'm a bit after the magazines and look for them from time to time. That's all.

Then why do you claim to have hundreds of cassettes in other threads?
Fire&Ice - 03.04.2008, 01:33

My golden rule is - get everything you don't have - regarding new materials - audio, video, DVD. Whatevah! But I am not a collector, like collecting various releases etc. Not enough Money Money Money... :P
DistantDrums - 03.04.2008, 01:59

Im not really a die hard fan that collects everything that each ABBA member recorded and all the singles that were made all around the world and all the ABBA merchandise that's been put out through the years. I just go for a CD/DVD's that looks interesting in some way. I'll only buy it if it's got at least something new on it whether I like it or not. The Deluxe Albums are a good example. I'm sick & tired of these compilations with the same old stuff on them. I have them enough already. I stopped buying them with ABBA gold.

There's only a few merchandise thingys that I'm interested in getting once the price drops  . and these are The ABBA t-shirt & Mug at the old ABBAsite.

Maxi-saxi - 03.04.2008, 06:13

Pepe I do have those cassettes But I don't collect them any more, I mainly focus on ABBA stuff in collectors conditions.

And believe me it's getting harder now as some of the stuff I have had to turn down lately has been in pretty poor condition

Linda J - 04.04.2008, 19:31

I used to collect everything I could get my hands on, regarding ABBA   ..or, die trying!!!

But, last decade, I unloaded so much.. :x Now, I collect books, DVDs, CDs.. Anything rare & has something special about it.. (I have no more vinyls, & only one picture disc album left, as I sold them all.. I haven't really regretted it tho, as I prefer the good quality of the remastered CDs.. 8) )
Angeleyes - 04.04.2008, 20:37

I'm a vinyl collector, but I buy some cd's and other merchandise as well, though I do not really collect them.
MammaMia512 - 05.04.2008, 01:05

I really don't have much ABBA merchandise. I have the Complete Studio Recordings Box Set, Arrival Special Edition, and ABBA The Movie (Special Edition). I also have Bright Lights Dark Shadows.

The music really is the most important part, but I'd love to get my hands on some merchandise as well. I'd like to one day get some LPs. I don't remember ever seeing one in my life, which is unfortunate because I'm absolutely captivated by the things available in the past. So maybe one day I'll get a bunch of ABBA LPs off of ebay or something like that, both for the sake of collecting and to actually play. I'd like to get some posters and such as well; I have pictures on my wall that I printed from the computer, but that's not the same.

Oh, that´s my attitude, too! :D

Sometimes I see poster which I really want, sometimes it´s a record.. It varies, I always get keen on something else. Of course, I´d love to start on records collection, have some ABBA archives of articles and start to collect systematically, but for that I have too little stuff   So.. I just collect what appeals to me at the moment, anything ABBA or solo... I am not interested in releases of related artists, f.e. Helen Sjöholm, unless I really like their work.
