not thought of it , although your options are pretty tight
you never put abba fans who are friends!
My family might take a few tracks or albums that they like, but they wouldnt want all of it, I would like the entire collection and its vast to go to an Abba fan, who would have the same Pleasure I have had with the collection
Though I aint going!

I can't think about it!
Sinikka - 24.10.2006, 17:35
Why do you ask "if you died"? It should be "when you die". We all die, sooner or later.
I can imagine my daughter carrying all that crap to a local flea market...

Sure Johnny, although I have said to her that she should not sell them for few cents as I have actually put quite a lot of euros in a row to get them :).
But I would not take them with me either. I suppose the best thing would be to sell them to an eager fan who could enjoy them just as much as I have :D.

There's a few people I would leave the rare stuff I got ( mostly other abba fans) but my kids would probably sell it, I've driven them mad with abba. But like alot of people I hope I don't die just yet, there's a few things I want to do first
jacko10 - 25.10.2006, 01:47
IN the words of a famous Eartha Kitt song '' If I can't take it with me when I go , I just aint gonna go! ''

I hardly believe Benny or Björn would be interested to know the results of that poll.
Excuse my blatant honesty.

johnny59 - 25.10.2006, 19:46
Haha, I'd like to know that trick also!
kitty-cat - 25.10.2006, 22:42
I'm sure if i leave my stuff someone else would be too glad to make a bonfire out of it  i dont know anyone who would be grateful if i left my collection to them. So i still say, I'll take it with me, i'll put it in my will, 'all abba and abba related stuff to go in coffin with deceiced' :D (god how morbid is that  )

aggie-fan - 26.10.2006, 00:23
well you didn't have boyfriend or girlfriend etc on that poll. if i died i would make my boyfriend take all my agnetha/abba things. lol I'm the only one he knows that loves agnetha, and abba. so the songs would most likely remind him of me.
and no one else i know around me likes abba.

philzone - 26.10.2006, 18:44
i'll just leave instructions to have my ABBA stuff displayed on the internet, allowing cyberspace vultures to pick my collection clean (provided they are also ABBA fans).

I'll do that before passing. I think it's better than seeing them badly managed at a flea market where no one will care for them. Assuming to live at least other 50 years, how many people will have interest for Abba in 2056? Very very few people, records will surely get broken. So, if there's one that can have rights to damage my things then it's me, isn't it?
P.S. Since assumptions on how much time still remains to live are not reliable, it'd be better I'll begin my dirty work already tonight :P

Ooooh, I've already made plans for that eventuality. I'm leaving my ABBA stuff to my 6yo daughter. I've already introduced ABBA songs to her and she has become a big fan. I've also explained to her how precious my collection is to me and would like her to keep them for memories of her mom (moi) and ABBA alive. She saiD "Mommy, I'll take good care of them!"
spong - 08.11.2006, 23:28

(how many people will have interest for Abba in 2056?) quote
well people are still interested in Mozart after a long period of time!
I also like music from all periods, cant see it being any different really
Music is after all the great healer of the world
Abba will go on and on and on... ohh theres a title there! :P

well in 2056, i will only be 69 years old, so hopefully i will still be alive. i think abba will live on for along time, but of course abba wont be still alive. as the people lol else well they would be like super human. agnetha would be 106, and the other ones would be like 111. but you never know they could still be alive at that age. and i also think that abba music will be remade from other groups, and will keep abba around for a long long time.

Leaving
I voted. I would leave my collecton to my youngest daughter...she is a very emotional person like me, and appreciates good music. I catch her listenting to ABBA on her computer from time to time.....she know how important my ABBA items are to me, I don't think she would think twice about selling them....she knows a good thing when she sees it! And, I trust her to keep care of my belongings after I am gone.
I think it is important to think about these things...if you leave it to the state to take care of your belongings, who knows where it will show up? Leave it in your will...to a special person. That is what I am doing, that way, I know who will end up with it! I would hate to think about my family members selling my ABBA items at a sale for pennies....perish the thought! I have a special box that contains special things that mean a lot ot me, and intend for the contents of that box to go to my children so that they will know the "dad" that they had was thoughtful enough to save things for them. I think they will be happy to have my collection.
drimnagh - 05.01.2007, 18:38
When you are dead, you're dead so I don't think it will matter but I think I would like my ABBA stuff to go to some of the people on this site if I pop my clogs anytime soon. Which I'm not planning on doing, I might add. Life in the old dog yet and all that! he he

Pop your clogs? Is that a british phrase? I've never heard that term before. :D I think I almost popped mine reading that! (LOL very funny)
I don't have alot of ABBA collection other than all the studio albums (some duplicates on vinyl, cassette and CD) and a few DVD's. I suppose they would go to my daughter, she's not a huge fan, but she's a daddy's girl and might keep them out of sentimentality for her old papa.
My son on the other hand has threatened to burn them, not waiting for me to pass on but now. He's not a fan of quality music obviously. (I think it's because he's not allowed to play gangster rap in our home.)
Bruce :D

i go take it in my grave so i can swing on dancing queen
drimnagh - 06.01.2007, 14:35
Hey there, ABBAanator. I think it is a British phrase but I'm not sure of the origin. Another one is 'kick the bucket'- you surely must have heard of that? Off to the great big cabbage perfume factory in the sky, etc..

i would leave my album collection in the capable hands of my son
i know he would appreiciate it and look after it
lovesagnethaforever - 22.01.2007, 02:21
that's a bit scary I hope that I could leave it somewhere and pick it up again in my next life because it's scares me not to have anything of abba left in another life it's silly I know but it feels that way FREAKY !!!!!!!!!

I haven't thought of dying yet, I'm just a girl who's beggining to discover ABBA's music and legacy! I'm frightened...
Well, if I had to leave it to someone, I'll probably leave it to my friends (who like ABBA, of course, I have many who HATE them) :( :( :(
Or to my family! Maybe I'll marry an ABBA fan or my children would like ABBA as much as their mother :D :D :D
For the moment, I'll continue to add more stuff to my little collection 8)
I hope one day I could have one as huge as Maxi's!
Love,
Andrea

i`ll take all but one cd with me.my family can keep one to remember me and to keep abba living on though my kids.
edwinwilde - 22.02.2007, 00:26
I would leave it to my mother cause out of my family members she's the one who loves ABBA the most.
