Yep, Mr. Benny Andersson! Meeting my ABBA hero (Mono Music studios, summer 2005) was just so unexpected and *so great*! Hes a very kind man and he smiles a lot these days, its not true that hes turned into an old grumpy man! Bless him... Looking forward to meet the other 3 now, sooner or later!

Regina - 22.10.2006, 14:21
I met them all four. I was a sweet young 17-year-old teenager when I met Agnetha, Björn and Benny (in this order) for the very first time in April 1984 :D It was a dream for me coming true and I never ever will forget any second! Later that year I also finally met FRIDA. And in the meantime I have met them all four several times again in Sweden and Germany.
By the way, right now there is a poster on my wall with Björn and myself (taken in April 1984)!!!

Hi there,
Yes, I have also met Björn and Benny. I actually talked to Benny about their staging of Chess in Swedish in 2002. It was really weird. He was so nice! And Björn then, I got their autographs and pictures :D. I never forget that.
I haven't met Agnetha or Frida but I am still working on that.

Hi,
I've been to Stockholm in April this year, but Benny was on holiday and Björn was in Hamburg/Germany. :(
Well, and at the German fan preview of Mamma Mia back in 2002 in Hamburg I met Benny, but unfortunately I had not got the opportunity to get an autograph. There were so many fans and a show was made by the German TV channel NDR. No chance for me. :(
So I hope to meet one of the four next time.
Cheers,
Jasmin

Gniblett - 22.10.2006, 19:01
Never had the fortune to be in the right place at the right time. I would imagine that all the ABBA members are easy to get along with as they do not come with the trappings of "celebrity" that encase so many pop stars.
In their interviews they come across as really nice people. I know that may sound bland, but it is meant as a compliment of the highest order. I suppose that is a small fraction of why ABBA have remained so special to me. Of necessity they need protection from the crowds but you can imagine that over the dinner table with a glass of bubbly, for example, they would be like old friends. Oh how I dream of talking and laughing into the night with Frida and the others ....

I've met Benny & Björn at e.g. Mono Music studios in Stockholm, the Kristina från Duvemåla previews & premieres in Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm, the Chess in Swedish preview in Stockholm and I met Benny Mamma Mia preview in Stockholm. In Gothenburg we were only 3 fans waiting outside the opera house when they were rehearsing and when B&B left the building, they had quite a long time to talk to us & have our photos taken. I also happened to pass Benny's house once as he was driving away in his car: he waved at my friend and me :D
I've met Agnetha at the road to her house twice and got autographs. We only talked a few minutes and no photos were allowed to be taken, but it is a very nice memory still. I also stood close when she arrived to Stockholm for the Mamma Mia premiere.
I've met Frida twice, too. First in Finland 1996 when she was promoting Djupa andetag and second time when she arrived to the Mamma Mia premiere in Stockholm.
I only regret I don't have a photo of myself and Agnetha

I hope we can talk about dreams here as the A8BA site didn't allow it.
I dreamt again last night that I not only met B&B but I was helping them compose a song. It was amazing.
Who knows, one day I'll meet an A8BA member in person.

Re: Have you ever met an A8BA member/members?
johnny59 - 27.10.2006, 10:46
Anthony, concerning the "dream" question, look at my statements in this topic:
http://www.iphpbb.com/board/ftopic-30652567nx61610-435.html
We decided to let it pass as a test run. We think that dream threads can easily lead to rather weird and off-track discussions and posts and it would be much easier to prohibit them in general because the mod staff would have less work monitoring them.
So if it seems that the community can deal with the issue in a responsible way, there will be some room at this place. But we won't hesitate to lock dream topics if they seem to get ridiculous or revise our decision if we find it necessary.
Hope this helps.

I have not....
Sadly, I am only a fan from a distance. I would give my eye teeth to meet any of the four. Being here in the States, and myself not having the opportunity to travel much to Europe, it is doubtful that I will ever meet them.
I think I would have the time of my life if I were to meet one of them, though!!! I get jittery just thinking about it!

have you met an abba's member
Not me personnaly but two friends of mine met Frida:
one in Paris in 1984 or 1985 in a tv show "Stars-by michel drucker", and the second, last year in Chamonix. Frida went in France to "make a ballad" in the Mont Blanc and she stayed a few days in Chamonix. My friend sees her in a restaurant, the first time and after in the "Chanel" shop. He spoke with her and found she is simply, human and real a very warm and oppend person.

meeting frda
Hello Diego,
Yes my friends are very fortunates and the incredible thing, it's that the both don't be fan from abba or Frida.
In the tv show, Frida came only with BjÖrn and Benny to translate what they sayed about Chess and to support them. It was very generous for her to do that. She lived in Paris but it's unique to come in a tv show to support "old friends" (abba were split) without promote anything for her.
The last year, in Chamonix, the situation was very different and i know very warm because my friend can have a discussion with her and find her very touching, intelligent and "fascinate".
For me, i was very sad because one week before, i was also in Chamonix.
"you know what i mean".
Regards,
Pierre

meeting a abba's member
Diego,
Just one word i forget in my precedent reply, about daniel balavoine.
You're right, he died in 1987 or 1988, i don(t remember well, in an helicopter accident, during a Paris Dakkar race-meeting.
He spoke many times about Frida to say how he admired her and thought she was one of the greatest pop star in the world. The were friends and you know that Frida wrote daniel balavoine's name in her dvd.
best regards,
Pierre

Hi everybody :D :D
I have met Benny last years after the Skansen concert of BAO
I was alone sitting in a bench waiting my friends and I saw him
He was loading all his clothes in his car ( fabulous porch ) and I went to him and start to speak with
He asked me where I was from and was it my first visit in Sweden ( and it was ) He start to tell me how big I was (1m89 ) and he start joking that I came from East of France where the wine is very good . Then I promise that next time we meet I bring him a good wine .
I plane that for next year .
Early the same day I had visited the house where the cover of the visitors Lp was shot , and the previous one we where sipped in Gripsholm to shot the same pictures as the "Waterloo " cover .
What a trip , my friends ... Last years August the 03rd.2006
I hope to meet him once again next year.
But you have to know that Benny is the coolest guy on Earth and he is very endorsement .
This is one of my greatest memories of all my life ............................

Gerald was indeed a very lucky man, a one to one meeting and such a friendly response from Benny. Who can wish for anything more!
I just think I would have more to chat to Frida about and would be afraid of freezing with nerves upon meeting Benny, though having read Gerald's experiences I think he would not be a daunting fellow to meet face to face after all. Frida has always appeared to be very open and friendly and ready to laugh which goes a long way to put one at ease and calm those nerves

meeting an abba'smember
yes, you are right.
My best dream would to meet Frida, i speak about this in one topic because i create a new shop with a great french artist Jean Charles de Castelbajac who are the best friend to Malcolm Mac Laren and vivienne Westwood, love many artits and is friend with Debbie Harry, for example etc.
He produces records sometimes, like for his beautiful wife Mareva or some punk group, like Pravda.
I dream that Mr de Castelbajac, perhaps with M.Mc Laren meet Frida and ask to do something; what? i don't no true but anything would be great and my dreams are no ending.
Best regards,
Pierre

AndyB - 29.11.2006, 21:31
Hi everyone!
I've been fortunate enough to have met Agnetha a few times between 1994 and 1999 during summer vacations in my beloved Stockholm. I met her each time outside (and I do mean OUTSIDE!) the entrance to her driveway at her villa on Ekero.
Since our "friend" THE MADMAN's exploits, I could never make the trip out there again (even if I could afford to get back over to Stockholm!) It just wouldn't feel right. I feel sad and angry that this "creature" has spoiled things for so many decent fans out there...not just myself.
To be honest, but for a certain devastating event back in '94 (the death of my Father), and my wonderful friend Eva in Stockholm, I would probably NEVER have met Agnetha....I wouldn't have known how to get out there, let alone have had the nerve to make the trip!
Anyhow, rather than relate the whole story of that first "magical" ('cause for me it really was!) meeting here, I'll post a link to the account on my website "Andys ABBA Images", so here's the link:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nytorp/meet.htm
One reason I posted the account of that meeting was to try and give less fortunate fans at least SOME idea of how wonderful it was to meet this special woman...I really hope I managed to do that. Even now 12 years on I still get goosebumps thinking about that day....I'll never forget it thats for sure. If some find that sad or corny...then that's their problem!
So, I hope you enjoy reading about my "special day", and I really hope ALL of you get the chance to meet dear Agnetha and the other members someday...just give Agnetha a hug from me if you do won't you!?
Cheers,
Andy B, Bolton, UK

Giorgio Moroder ( soundtracks of Flashdance and top gun ) is from my town ( and has the same surname ). He wrote a song for Agnetha ( Robinson )

A Great memeory
As you can see with the picture I met Benny in August 2005 at Skansen for the BAO concert. A great time , after the show I was alone on a bench and I saw Benny leaving through a small window carrying his clothes.
The meeting was in mind because the bench was near a big Porche Cayenne .
Then I stood up and go to him. We were alone toghether for 10mn before other people saw us and came to ask for autographs .
By this time I asked him if i could take a picture together with him ( the mother of a friend who didn't take part of the concert and was sitting with me and had no interest with ABBA did it ).You can see one of them and I talk with him about abba where I came from and what I have though of the concert.

Great stories!! :D
I was lucky enough to meet three ABBA-members, taking pictures of / with them and getting autographs: first was Björn at the MM premiere in Utrecht, that was *so* exciting - for the first time I was actually facing an ABBA-member!! Then I met Benny at Mono Music in Stockholm (which was funny because he actually reminded me to take a photo, saying "Now, don´t you want to take a picture, maybe?!", because I was so nervous that I forgot!! ), and then I met Frida at the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm - a friend of mine and I even had tickets for the actual ceremony an therefore watched Frida (and the Queen of Sweden!!) during the whole show and met her before and afterwards. :D
I now have those three autographs all in one book (on each members full-page-portrait in The Complete Recording Sessions), and I´m hoping to someday have Agnethas added. My favourite and probably most valuable ABBA-item, that book... :D

Hi everyone
I also had the chance to meet all abba members in the 80's around the time that the musical Chess came out ( at the premiere), some of the meetings where in London and some meetings in Stockholm and Holland, they where all great meetings and still give me great memories.
Greetings from Ettie.

Ettie,
I remember you well from the Chess premier and of course your great Frida mag "Come To Me" that you did with Sharon Wilstone.
What happened to Sharon after the mag finished, i never saw her at any events after that.

Meeting Agnetha
Hello I travelled from New Zealand to Europe and to stockholm in July 2007 and as it was my 40th birthday my partner hired a car and we drove out to Ekero where Agnetha lived in the hope of seeing her. beautiful place Ekero and we waited outside Agnethas farm but unfortunately we didnt see any one I was so disappointed. Later on I found out from Staffan Linde Agnethas financial advisor that Agnetha was away on summer holidays. Also went to Mono Music but it was all locked up
So I came all that way and didnt get to meet anyone but I plan to come to Sweden again and try soon
Kind Regards
David

Unfortunately I haven't met her. But if I did and if she allowed me to take a photo I highly doubt I would share it on the internet.
On the contrary, I believe I would swear to her I won't do it.
(Did you hear that, Agnetha? I'm safe.)

Hi David,
I know Staffan Linde well.
And i promise you, even if Agnetha had been standing infront of you and you called him on the phone. He still would of told you Agnetha was on holiday.
Hes learnt from the Gorel Hanser school of giving answers to fans.
While at Ekero if at anytime you saw a big black Lexus jeep going in and out, then it was highly likely to be Agnetha.
But im glad you enjoyed your trip, winter months are the best times to see Abba members, October/November have been my luckiest months. but it so cold.

Have I met any ABBA-member? I have seen some of them really close, but I didn't talked to them actually..., so I won't say I actually met them...
- First time when I saw a glimpse of Bjorn was at MM musical premiere in Utrecht, it was just for a few seconds but I was very excited to see him! (2003, november)...
- In 2005 I went to Stockholm for MM musical premiere and saw all four members sitting in the theatre. There I got my 1st autograph of Bjorn and took my first pictures of B&B! Agnetha and Frida were too far away, but close enough for me! Can't say I met the girls there...though I did see them.
- In 2005, March Bjorn and Lena attended the International MM musical premiere in Brussels and I was there too. Got my 2nd autograph of Bjorn and he was standing next to me giving an interview!
- In 2006, March B&B visited the mayor of Antwerp, there I got my first autograph of Benny! Somehow missed Bjorn for that autograph...That evening they watched the MM Musical in Antwerp.
- Finally went to Stockholm last July and have seen all ABBA-members again, this time Frida closer then the 1st time! And for the first time that day a photo was taken from me with Bjorn!! Did I met him? Yes, I did, but still I didn't spoke to him...

That's a whole lot more than what I even dream of! I would settle with being once at a distance from where I can see them "live" in three dimensions... For example to have been there on the street when they appeared on the balcony... :love4:

I met both Benny and Bjorn at the Mamma Mia! NYC premiere. I didn't get any pictures of me with them, though :( But it was so great to meet them both. I actually saw Benny twice; once by the barricades and once walking into the theatre. Good thing too, because I was able to give him a pleasant greeting, instead of looking like the sweaty obsessed fan he probably saw me as a mere half hour before...

I met FRIDA and Björn at the premiere of MAMMA MIA!
in Stuttgart which is my home town !!!
It was a very exciting day, we had around 30 degrees, the air was full of electricity short before rain and thunderstorm...
We had been waiting at the red carpet for hours ,I didn't drink anything on that day so I would not have to leave my good place for.....
When they arrived hundreds of fans waiting at the red carpet went very nervous and everybody was calling and shoutig "FRIDA!!" or "BJÖRN!!" for an autograph or whatever...
FRIDA at least signed my original 7" En Legig Dag" with "love Frida" and she was quite astonished about the fact that somebody brought such an "old" single along in those modern times.......I was happy!!! :D
When everything was over around midnight at the party after the musical ,Frida left the VIP area and adviced the bodyguards to stay away and she really wanted to have contact with her fans ! That was sooo nice !
I was so close to her that I could touch her, wow. It was like a dream for me.
Then she walked up to me and said "Are you going to stay?" because I stood right in the direction she wanted to go to a close limousine....I was so shocked  that she had been talking to ME that I just found no words what to say......It was magic !
I could hardly sleep that night, the next morning I was aware of my signed EN LEDIG DAG 7" and realised that I really met a member of ABBA that night ! In the 2000's ! In my home town !
Hope my English isn't too bad, sorry
FRANK

Seoul 2004 ... Bjron and his family
Stockholm 2005 ... Bjorn and Frida, no chance to find Agnetha
Moscow 2006 ... Bjron and Frida/ She asked me 'Are you a Japanese who saw MM ~~~?' :rotate: At the Hotel lobby Russian fans and me, we relaxed to talk with Frida. She was gentle woman there.
Stockholm 2007 .... Bjron, Benny and Mrs. Go:el, I didn't notice Agneta was there :(
London 2008 ....could not see and talk to them all :dead:
Stockholm 2008 ....Frida, Phyllida Lloyd and Judy Craymer/ I thank them for my Mamma mia musical memories in those years.
Only I could say to ABBA members in panic tituation was "Please come to our country again. We Japanese still love you" calmly in my poor English.
In fact I wanted shout then but not. I am afraid if they don't think Japanese fan are polite :sob:

Hi!
I am sorry but no explanations how to get to Agnetha's (or any other ABBA member's) private grounds can be posted on the forum. This is a worldwide accessible website which archives all activities and is exposed to google and other search engines.
There are people out there who we do not want to deliver such information, therefore it can not be discussed.

I know the Russian woman which met Bjorn and Benny in Stokholm. But maybe she would tell this story by herself.
Sometimes people don`t value the chances. In 2006 Frida and Bjorn arrived to Moscow because of Mamma Mia premiere. How wonderful it was when the main official TV news programme "Vremja" ("Time") was opened not with the words "Today President Putin..." but with the topic #1: "Today the members of the legendary quartet ABBA arrived to Moscow. Our reporter at the airport... etc." :D
Next day I watched TV again: Bjorn visited the famous place in Moscow where the newly married couples use to go after the ceremony. Bjorn came up to one of the couples and after congratulating words tried to kiss the bride. But she didn`t allow :( Different generation!

Well , to start with one of them .
Benny .
He's the coolest guy on Earth, we met in 2005 in Skansen and in 2009 at Mariefred for BAO concert . But this time he was mine for half an hour with other french fans . We talk about food and wine (as I live in top east of France, close to Germany) .We laugh quite a lot with Tommy Köberg and Helen Sjöholm . We took a wonderfull picture all together.
Frida & Björn
We met on ABBAworld opening night this past two weeks as I was a lucky winner of a ticket . I found them quite cool and I was very close to them . I was caught by Frida smile but I haven't got the opportunity to talk with them like I did with Benny .
now I'm working to meet Agnetha

I then lingered in the foyer for ages hiding behing carboard cut outs etc !!

then those 'secondary ' celebs came in Charles and Camilla, so had to go to my seat then, but hey I saw them !!!

Yes, Ivana I saw Frida and Bjorn too. I was sitting 3 rows from the front in the stalls and they were up in the dress circle (or whatever it's called) so if I turned round, I had a perfect view of them. I like to think that when I waved at Frida, she waved back just to me but I expect there were bucket-loads of mad fans waving inanely at her at the same time. But for that brief second, my heart skipped a beat...I mean, she LOOKED like she was looking in my direction!

In june 8th 1976 I made a trip to Stockholm with my parents and accidentally noticed Frida and Benny in Gröna Lund! They were relaxed, listening to an open-air jazz concert with a friend (Björn Skiffs, a famous swedish singer). It was shocking because just hours before I had said to my mother that I'm going to find ABBA, and of course she just laughed and said "Sure! That's very likely to happen!!". But it did happen. I remember Frida being really nice and friendly... After signing to me, there were some other children asking for autographs too. She didn't have a pen, so she borrowed one from my mom. The same she used for my autographs.
after 5 minutes she came and gave it back to my mom. That pen is one of my ABBA-treasures now... there are no words to describe how exited I was about that accidental meeting of F & B in Gröna Lund...And back in Finland it was extremely difficult to my friends to believe, that I had actually really met them!!!!

Have you ever met any abba member?
I don't know if there's already a thread about it, if there is, please let me know.
Have you ever met any abba member? If so, how were they? Where did you meet them? I haven't met anyone, but i would like to.

A few members of this forum have met members.
Lots of people have met B&B, but I only know of two people who have met the ladies.
I haven't obviously but it would be the best day ever if I met them.

Hi Celine!
There is a thread discussing the very same question:

Coincidentally, this same thread was just linked yesterday. Pekka shared his story of meeting Frida and Benny here:

If anyone else has a story to share, please post it in the existing thread, just so that we can keep the stories all together.

Fantastic story. Amazing to think that Frida even thought about returning the pen, I wonder how many times people either walk off with one or retutn them to the wrong person. Gill

Pekka, I can almost hear you beseeching your mother "Mom, thou shalt never, ever touch this pen again...There are Frida's fingerprints on it!", and I bet the pen is displayed on a velvet cloth in a showcase at your house, your personal fortune. Such a wonderful story, one of these memories no one can ever take away from you, whatever happens. Thank you for sharing.
And Frida sang to you? What did she sing? Can you remember what she looked like, her appearance, her clothing? Sorry, I'm completely taken aback by your story...

I have an incredible story to share with everyone here on the Abba4ever forum about my first - yes - first meeting with Frida, Bjorn and Benny..and the whole thing was weirdly karmic, call it fate or destiny..
I also saw her again about a year later surrounded by a few lucky people who were getting Frida’s autograph during a visit to The Barbican Centre in London’s Silk Street‘s ‘City of London’ area.
She looked so beautiful..and tall!
However, as I just said - I actually met her about 12 months before the ‘autograph’ incident in the same building, but more up close and personal..along with both Benny and Bjorn.. alas - no Agnetha (my heroine) but please, let me start my amazing story from the beginning..
I was attending school next to the Barbican Centre in 1984 and one lucky day, no word of a lie, I went out to grab some lunch and standing right outside the main gates of my school was this guy and he looked straight at me and asked me if I wanted a ticket to attend what was to be the very first public performance of Chess - a sort of test performance. This would have been around October ‘84. I was about 18 then.
Now, I already was playing - daily - Frida’s latest and brilliant album ‘Shine’ which I believe had just been released a month or so before. I’m sure some of you would know the exact date.
This performance of Chess, however, was to be staged at The Barbican that very night. I couldn’t believe it and I said “Yes please!” Offered the bloke money for the ticket but he refused and said he just couldn’t make it. To this day I have always been grateful to his generosity.
Unlucky for him though..but very, very, very lucky for me..because I did go that night..and it turned into one of those magical nights I would remember for all of my life. Bear in mind that I went along to this concert knowing very little about it and had no idea what it was all about. Thank God I accepted that ticket. Now, for those of you who are not familiar with The Barbican Centre. It’s a very large modern arts space comprising a large proscenium theatre, musical hall (where the concert was staged) cinemas, conferences and art spaces..so pretty big.
When I turned up..it was a like a who’s who filling into the auditorium..I checked my ticket with an usher who guided me to the second row. I couldn’t believe it..second row!!! I never bothered to check my seating - so was pleasantly surprised how good my seat was..but more was to come. As I sat down, I suddenly had the most strangest feeling that I was going to see the members of Abba, when all of a sudden…..gosh - look at the time!..part two coming soon. I have to be up very early sorry!!..but promise to finish the story..asap!

Hey! Many thanks all of you who sent kind feedback on part one of my story of meeting Frida, Bjorn and Benny. Sorry for the delay..but here is the final segment.
Part Two.
As I sat down, I suddenly had the most strangest feeling that I was going to see the members of Abba, when all of a sudden in the row behind me there was some movement - like some people brushing behind me to take their seats. Well, as I turned to look over my shoulder - I literally had that sense of déjà vu and at the same time
the hairs on my back stood up! About to take her seat- literally one seat along behind me was the most beautiful face I laid eyes on..Frida!
Words, emotions, sensations were all jumbled up and became a blur…Frida looked stunning, regal and I remember she was wearing some beautiful jewellery. A goddess. She had sat down in the third row with two other gentlemen I believe, but I hardly noticed them.
She was so close to me that I was able to simply turn and lean my arm over the back of my chair and chat to her..and do you know what? - that was exactly what I did!!!
Frida was amazing - she responded to me like I was someone she knew - totally unfazed, and completely gracious.
I can’t recall how we started talking but I do remember praising her for her album ‘Shine’ and she thanked me and we chatted for about a minute mainly about the new material and Agnetha..I asked her if she was coming and she said Agnetha couldn’t make it. I also remember asking Frida what she thought was her favourite song on the ‘Shine’ album and remember her taking my breath away because I knew what my favourite track was and she said it!! - Well, actually she said her choice of favourite songs changed but, at that particular time, she said it was “Twist In The Dark.” I can’t remember, sorry, what else she said but I always remember how she kept her focus on me and wasn’t at anytime distracted or appeared bored etc. A beautiful person and so friendly and charming.
I did not think to ask for her autograph, I don’t think I even had a pen with me - so the conversation came to a nice, easy close and I said I hope you enjoy the concert and thanked her again for creating a brilliant album. Then I turned to face the stage and there was a side door, downstage right - which was in front of me and Frida..suddenly out walked Benny and Bjorn - and I almost..fainted.
They didn’t see me and they simply walked onto the stage..
All through the concert I kept looking behind me at Frida through the corner of my eye and she was consummate in that she kept focused on the show and at the end was one of the first to start the standing ovation. Such a generous lady and you could feel her pride towards Benny and Bjorn
I will never, ever, forget that magical night..
It would have been icing, double and triple cream on the cake for me if Agnetha had been sitting behind me or in front of me too lol!..but I WAS FLOATING ON AIR!
The End. Xx
Love Sonny boy

Wonderful story Sonnyboy, what a great memory to treasure. I love hearing other fans encounters of their meetings with members of Abba, I dont think I have read a bad "meeting". It is always warming to read that the abba members have been gracious and have actually took time to acknowledge and spend a little time with their fans.
That story is something you will treasure Sonnyboy, a great story and thank you for sharing :-)

Sonnyboy, what a cliffhanger with your two part story :D I Can really get a feeling of your experience, it must have been great and a lovely memory.
When I was at the Mamma mia premiere and Agnetha quite unexpected appeared I could really notice among the people in the saloon that something was going on before I knew what. I was in the first row not to far from were she sat. A friend of my mum had shortly before that told me about when her friends went to meet up Beales in the airport (I think it was where it was) when they came to Sweden in the 60's and how she still regret that she didn't join her friends, and I thought that I'm not gonna regret this 40years later  However I walked up to her seat and was lucky to get her autograph  I was so happy months after that!

Absolutely :D
I did see Björn in the entrance as well and had an autograph. I had brought the "Thank you for the music" box set and had got it signed with a black marker. However I had bought a golden coloured one that I thought would look good on the box-set and he did another signature with this one when I asked him, so that was really nice. (Afterwards I noticed that the black one was visible too, so not I have to signatures from Björn on this one). However the memories of that premiere night is no doubt worth more than the autographs to me, they are more a visible memory from it.

I was going to go to the MM! premiere at São Paulo, but my parents said they would probably not be there, because they wouldn't mind a brazilian production. Well, they were not there, just plenty of famous people, and I wasn't there too. It took four months to me to get there. These thousand miles between me and them are such a c***!

Yes - amazing memories to treasure forever and - it was so great sharing it with you all, because I had never done so before. Well, certainly in not so much detail! I surprised myself in how much I remembered that magical night chatting away to Frida with no one else interrupting us and seeing Benny & Bjorn - almost as if the events I had experienced all those years ago had taken place today! Still very fresh in my mind. Lol.
Great story abba_babete about your friend on FB who attended two ABBA concerts at Wembley!
I know what you mean Geordiegirl and ellielovesabba - but actually pulling my eyes away from Frida, concentrating on the show, noticing Benny and Bjorn come into the auditorium AND thinking what Frida thought of the back of my head - wasn’t a problem in the end because of the way Frida excuded such a relaxed aura. I felt strangely calm around her because she was - or appeared to be extraordinarily calm if you know what I mean. As for the concert - Elaine Page came on stage and sang, the songs, the orchestra and all the other performers were brilliant. I do remember getting lost in the show and above all getting lost in the music!..but yes..at the back of my mind,Frida was always there..sitting right behind me..at least I didn’t hear her snoring through the performance of Chess! I would definitely have been looking over my shoulder - a lot then! Lol J
Malin can I just say your story was fantastic and I wish I had been with you to have met Agnetha and well done you for boldly going up to her seat to get her autograph!
Thank you, so much, once again everyone and I am looking forward to reading more stories of other encounters of the ABBA kind!!

Back in 1987 I was employed by Tim Rice and Paul Gambaccini to compile a publication called the Guinness Book Of Hit Singles. I was sharing an office with Tim when he, Benny and Bjorn were working on some of the re-writes for the Broadway version of Chess.
The guys came in every day for about three weeks. I mainly made tea (sometimes it was cans of Carlsberg) and went out to get everyone lunch while they played around with ideas on the piano.
They were such gentlemen - really courteous and gracious.
