What do you consider Frida's Best solo Period
Me again,
Maxi-saxi,

What do you guy's think Frida's best solo period to be, It dosen't have to be the most succesful,
It's going to be a hard one as I really love all of her Albums

Ensam
Something's Going On
Shine
Djupa Andetag
AS I said it's tough as there are really four different albums here,

My Favourite would have to be
Djupa Andetag followed by Ensam.

Intrested to what you all think
Take care Maxi-saxi

Hey Maxi-saxi!

For me it is also the Djupa Andetag period. I just love that album so much and Frida's vocals are amazing!

Then Ensam followed by Something's Going On with Shine as the least favorite period; I am not very fond of the dark mood of the album. However... songs like Don't Do It, The Face and the b-side That's Tough are great!

; -)
aggie-fan - 19.10.2006, 05:46

being a agnetha fan not a frida fan. i would have to say the "something's going on" period. only because thats the only song, plus "to turn to stone" i know from her. I liked how she try to be all rock and roll after being in pop so long. i think it suited her voice great.
jerry@theoffice - 19.10.2006, 09:27

It's Ensam for me, by miles.

Frida solo
Her 3 albums in Swedish with a special mention to "Djupa Andetag".

One of the best albums in my whole CD collection.
johnny59 - 19.10.2006, 10:00

I prefer "Djupa andetag" before "Something's going on". I love the first and am not specifically enthusiastic about the latter.

I still have to purchase "Ensam" and "Shine" so I can't say anything about them.
jacko10 - 19.10.2006, 10:07

My Favourite would have to be Djupa Andetag followed by Ensam

both excellent albums

Ensam is my favourite period.

But Djupa is great, Something's going on and Shine too...I can't choose which on is second best, so to speak.

Once again, Djupa andetag is my favourite period - but very closely followed by Ensam. I do have her 60's albums, but I prefer the later work. I prefer SGO to Shine any day, although there are some excellent songs on Shine, too.

Actually, Djupa andetag is in another category than the rest of her solo work. It was done years later, after such a life experience and with different touch to it than SGO and Shine, for example.
Fire&Ice - 19.10.2006, 12:39

Ensam is definitely my favourite Frida solo period.

Followed by both Djupa Andetag and SGO. I also find songs in early career thrilling!
abbascots - 19.10.2006, 12:47

My favorite album of her is "Ensam", but I like her music from the sixties and early seventies very much, too. Her first album "Frida" is my second favorite.

"Something´s Going On" and "Shine" are equally good in my opinion, a shared place 3.

Of course I like "Djupa Andetag", but it´s not my favorite one, although I love "Sovrum" and "Lugna vatten", beside some other good songs on the album.
hamlet3 - 07.04.2008, 20:49

Djupa Andetag - the very best album she ever did! :D

I'm not a fan of her early work I must admit... what applies the 80s, I prefer Something's Going On to Shine.
Simsalabim - 08.04.2008, 17:14

Djupa Andetag, but I love all her other work too! :frida:
Manyara - 08.04.2008, 19:54

I love Djupa Andetag and Ensam. They are both very deeply. And I think her voice on these two albums is so special and different from the other two. Her voice is so warm and sensual what I really like.

And when I´m in a bad mood - then I hear Shine and SGO and my heart jump up and down - and me too :D
drimnagh - 09.04.2008, 15:44

Two periods. The SGO period cos she was post Benny (and ABBA) and I think a lot of how she felt came out in that album- it was cathartic for her.

Then skip forward a few centuries to Djupa- pure class! 8)

Least awe inspiring for me was 'Shine' but like others, there are one or two songs I really like.

Ensam is my favourite Frida solo cd, I adore it, and then its Djupa andetag.. I do listen to 'Something's Going On' and 'Shine' and there are a couple of songs offeach album that I really like, but i'm not as enthusiastic about them as I am the Swedish cd's
