ABBA Videos on YouTube
Hi All

I found some funny videos of ABBA and individual menbers on YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldLf4EXlR8c&mode=related&search=

That's a great video...makes me happy.

I also found another litle video...laughing a lot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcS4vBisJLo&mode=related&search=

Have fun with it

In all respect of ABBA

:D
Bonnie - 19.10.2006, 16:25

Hi Jive,

Youtube is great when it comes to ABBA and related videos! Of course I have seen most of them already but there are some really rare ones, for example a vid of Summer Night City in Japan, Haven't got the URL at the moment sorry.

That performance of I do 5x is fabulous, it was on the German ABBA Kult Nacht not so long ago.
The caption the guy made with the video are a total turn of though. Haha really funny to p*** Frida off
Then again a video like this (with captions) genrates a lot of nasty comments from some really creapy "fans", esp. Agnetha "fans". this makes me sick.

It seems that they use the comment section as an open forum without any mods. Uber freak Frederic Tonnon is there only to slaughter Frida, that's what he lives for.
David Faltskog - 19.10.2006, 16:39

If i may plug my own contribution to YouTube :)

I have a ton a ABBA/Agnetha videos on YouTube including the Summer Night City Japanese Performance thank's to...

I am an Agnetha fan, although I admire both girls, I do believe this particular video isnt doing much to help the frida and agnetha war debate. it should be depleted from the showing, someone thought it was funny, but it isnt! Its being Particularly Nasty to Frida In my Humble veiw.

I dont know the reasoning behind the ''elbowing'' and dont wish to know. they are both part of abba, Agnetha doesnt seemed to bothered, so it shows to me it was part of the act!

perhaps if people use the button for inappropriate video? they would take it off

best wishes

Jack
Carribean - 19.10.2006, 20:21

JiveB: in all respect of ABBA??

You were laughing a lot about these tasteless comments?

If you did then there is, of course, no respect at all for ABBA because the person who made this little thing must be very disturbed!

Well... my opinion!
agnetha_andrea - 19.10.2006, 20:56

Hi David!

You're Faltskogian? Wow! You've tons of videos then. I've seen almost everyone of them on YouTube!
Thanks for the sharing! :D
I'll post later some links that I've found too...

Love,

Fire&Ice - 19.10.2006, 22:14

Andrea, why don't you start a new topic with your links?

Let us not post in this topic any more because of that second link. It should die down.
elad - 20.10.2006, 01:01

thank you very much for the links
YouTube is a great site!
see the kisses between Agnetha and Frida in the end? they are so qute!
i advice all those cinical pepoles that claim for rivarly between them to look at those pictures!

Carribean

If I was NOT a ABBA fan...I would not be here...

So get of your high horse and have a laugh.. :) .It's funny that video. It realy is.

What if somebody made a video of the behinds of the ABBA members ? All behinds to the sound of Lay all your love on me....would'nt that be funny ?

Carribean if you can't have a good laugh...I think you should wake up... :D

Cabbadian - 20.10.2006, 15:43

Thank GOD for YouTube. There is NO WAY I (at least) would've been able to have EVER seen ANY of these videos, TV specials, etc if it wasn't for YouTube. I am eternally grateful to all that post their video treasures.

x
Carribean - 20.10.2006, 18:41

JiveB I am not on a horse and I can have a laugh.

This video portraits Agnetha as 'perfect perfect perfect' and Frida as the '2nd best looking one' with a 'facade'.
Tell me: what is so funny about that? I think it is insulting to Frida.

There are also over 200 comments and they are insulting to both ladies since another Agnetha versus Frida fight was started because of this "funny" video!

I never said you are not an ABBA fan... I just wondered about that 'respect' remark since that video started fans fighting once more without any respect whatsoever!
bazz - 20.10.2006, 18:52

nicely put!
JiveB - 20.10.2006, 22:34

Carribean :)

started fans fighting ?...What's that about ?.. .I did not know that there was a war going on ? Why would abba fans fight ?...I don't get it....

I don't find it insulting....After all Frida DID push...and that's where the funny part is. I don't know if it was acting or what...I just find it Funny. The remarks in the video must be the writers problem not mine...

In my humble opinion There would be no ABBA if both the girls had not been there, each one with there special way...put together ...well perfecktion..ying and yang...

An abba fan can not be a abb fan or a bba fan or a bb or what ever fan...it can only be abba..if you get my meaning :D

By the way...not my intention to start a fight :(

Regards
JiveB
Carribean - 20.10.2006, 22:43

Hi JiveB!

I agree: no ABBA without Agnetha and Frida but some fanatics like to fight over who is nicer, better and so on. Pretty sad if you ask me.

If you read some of the over 200 comments added to that video you will know what I mean...

And I just want to make sure that there will be no fighting on this site! So I hope things are explained and ok!

; -)
Fire&Ice - 20.10.2006, 22:46

Ok, I can buy that you haven't read the comments below. I have my doubts though.

But the subtitle? That one is particularly rude. One must be blind to miss reading it... The nudge itself is hilarious but both the subtitle and the comments - there is nothing funny about that.

It would be nice if someone could post that video on YouTube in its pure form - that would be funny.
ilovesweden - 20.10.2006, 22:47

I find the second video quite stupid, I mean the comments on it.
Agnetha is perfect 5 times, not 4
spong - 03.11.2006, 01:56

hello

topic was locked.
i think it was:

a/. right to lock it , 'cos this one was going already......and
b/.wrong to lock it , 'cos despite quite a lot of angst among ABBA fans this needs to be kept open for the simple fact that the more ABBA fans have an opinnion about this the more interest it will generate.

we need to have loads of people telling the world what a load of s*** it is.
mind you , it was funny
(sorry about swearing)

gary :D
aggie-fan - 03.11.2006, 02:05

oh my. if you dont like the video, dont watch it. if you read one comment about the video and it was something mean about frida, dont read the rest. easy and simple as that. I find the video fun, not all funny but the girls are having fun. the person who made this video put it on youtube thinking people will laugh at it. Some did, some didn't.

if you have a problem with the video, email the person who put it on, maybe they can take it off.

Hades - 03.11.2006, 13:18

Of course, this 'elbowing' was just a joke. I don't understand how some people can even take it seriously. Frida was just having fun with the performance of the song, that's all.
The remarks in the subtitles are distasteful and disrespectful to Frida. When reading the several comments on the video from viewers I was shocked and disgusted. How any 'ABBA-fan' can lower themselves to posting such remarks is beyond me.
drimnagh - 03.11.2006, 19:48

I'm astounded that anyone would take it seriously!? Frida is obviously simply monkeying around for flip's sake! And some of the nasty comments on the youtube thing defy belief. There's nothing wrong with being light- hearted and I'm sure even ABBA don't take themselves too seriously but really folks! Get a grip, it's not big or clever and certainly not even witty which, if it was, may make it a little more palatable.but not much.
Belinda_sm - 03.11.2006, 22:08

this has gone too far.
that's the problem!!!!
it's really really sad to find nasty comments not only
on that particular video but in every single
Frida video on Youtube
it's not just
"if you don't like what you read
stop reading"
As Bonnie said that fr** Frederic T lives to
hate Frida
there's nothing wrong about loving (workshiping) Agnetha
but why d´you need to hate Frida ?
i felt sick when i've read an extremely unkind and mean comment:
someone blame Frida about her daughter's death
that was just evil.
i was trying to flag the video
but it doesn't work .
i'm really sad about this whole thing
and i'd feel the same if it was about Agnetha , Benny or Bjorn .

Belinda_sm wrote:

You don't know how right you are Belinda! There's hardly any ABBA or Frida video below which there is a psychotic comment from the  Tonnon, who has taken many identities there. There is a member whose nickname is "uglyanni"... need I say more?

Belinda_sm wrote: it's not just

No, it is not. Not at all. But I believe those who think that's possible, have gone through comments all right.

I was quite against allowing the links to youtube exactly because of idiotic comments...
It is one thing to be able to enjoy videos on youtube but having to link these comments here too is really sickening.
David Faltskog - 03.11.2006, 22:43

I,ve had a fair few nasty and downright disgusting comments about the ABBA/Agnetha video's i have put on YouTube. but unlike the poster of that ABBA video i make the effort to remove any unwanted comments.

I can't see why (unless this the poster of the video want's to cause aggro) he or she has,nt deleted or even stopped people leaving comments which can be done.

"Faltskogian"

BTW i,ve posted the video of Frida performing "Baby Love" on YouTube and any personnal attacks on Frida will be removed.
MarryMeAgnetha - 04.11.2006, 08:41

This video caused a controversy on the old ABBAsite Forum, too.

The captions someone added to the video are rather childish, as they purport to reflect attitudes held by Agnetha and Frida that no one could possibly confirm except Agnetha and Frida.

But they never did. During their ABBA days -- and since -- they've steadfastly denied the existence of any serious problems between them. They've repeatedly stated for the record that there was a healthy competition between them which added "a kick" to the show, but that one would always help out the other if she wasn't fully up to the show on any given night.

Of course, they're only human. They must have had a row every once in a while, but on the whole they've consistently claimed to have gotten along just fine.

As for the I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do video: they're obviously just playing around. Frida had just flirted with Björn. Then when Agnetha looked like she was flirting with Benny, Frida quite "unreasonably" gets angry with Agnetha even though Frida had just done the same thing. They were indulging in a bit of spontaneous, improvised theater. How could it be more obvious?

abbafanbri - 06.11.2006, 09:51

Well I didnt understand what all this fuss was about untill I read some of the comments on You Tube..
I have to say I stopped reading after a few because they just disgusted me.
I just do not understand at all how anyone can call themselves an abba fan (meaning you love the abba members) and yet still say such vile things about Frida.Or Agnetha .

Frida added humour and drama to live abba performances which lets admit could be very dull and lifeless sometimes with all the playback.
I think that her little outbursts showed a very normal side of abba we didnt always see.
Agnetha always seem to enjoy Fridas giggles and nudges to me and both ladies ARE ABBA not one better or worse.
I love them both for all they gave and were in abba and the rude comments some so called fans made on you tube should be removed IMO.
I too thought the video clip was funny and great but the comments were childish and vile.
Just my opinion.

Since many videos on Youtube disappeared some time ago, a few more links! Notice the member who uploaded a lot of great videos uses to pass over the fist letter of every sentence or word.

ABBA working in studio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqoNClQhfpE&mode=related&search= . (one of my favourite videos) Just curious: where does this video comes from? Some small introduction learns that it's from a Swedish television programm, but which?

Another, rare, part from the Dick Cavett show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDP9gJV4Ixg&mode=related&search= It might sounds a bit stupid, but which song is Frida singing? I'm not sure about it though..

I share your happiness. :D This member has lots of great stuff, and I glad he shares, because it's not available to purchase anywhere. This is a problem with copyrights; owners can bury things forever. Trademarks are different; it's use it or lose it, and patents expire after 20 years. Perhaps the YouTube lawsuit will lead to some changes.

This member has returned after being suspended, and he is trying to confuse searches by dropping letters. Now that there's a lawsuit, I believe that nothing will happen for a long time. YouTube is following the law, which says if the copyright owner complains, they must take it down, and this resulted the previous purge.

Now, the copyright owners won't complain because they want the evidence to be there for the court to see. YouTube won't take things down, because they don't want to set the precedent of acting independent of a complaint. It's a standoff, but it won't go on forever. Whatever the outcome, we probably lose.

This member is from Amsterdam, but lives in Spain, and he has a website. I don't see abbasite4ever in his links.

I get it now Platobird! Quite smard actually, to delete every first lettre.. I'm sure it will take a long time to remove those videos now, if Youtube doesn't agree with this. I hope they will stay there, so we can alle watch those brilliant moments. Most of them are quite rare, and worth seeing.

Anyway, it's time for some Waterloo today! First: at Melodifestivalen in Swedish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvo0wQ0Bte4 . Waterloo sounds great in English but be honest: the Swedish version is nice too!

How nice! :) Agnetha is introducing their own song with in Australia! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZbVhPcdGqs&mode=related&search= . (love that Swedish accent of hers)

Without any doubt their best preformance of Waterloo ever. ;) Live on stage from the DVD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbtQMbxgp84 . Notice all four members rocking on stage while doing one of their most famous songs.

I see in the news that YouTube is making it easier for copyright owners to get their videos removed, but the owner still has to find the stuff.
Quote: SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - Google said Thursday that it is building a tool for television and film studios to get copyrighted video clips quickly removed from its superstar website YouTube. The tool, called Claim Your Content, allows publishers to automate the take-down process.
This is the issue that's the basis of the lawsuit. The copyright owners want YouTube to screen every submission and prevent infringing material from being posted. However the current law is in YouTube's favor.

Even though YouTube offers owners the chance to expedite getting videos removed, the owners probably won't take advantage of it, because that would be admitting they accept this method. YouTube is building the tool to show they are actively following the law. The standoff continues. :rotate: Nevertheless, save those rare videos now.

short interviews, including footage of concert preparations!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwXX5emOgYc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf3azpdXN94
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCbCqJlw5_o
also including a short studio live performance of "Thank You For The Music"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yE3QO2Gs4g

"Words And Music" UK 1980 (ITV)
Interviews mainly about the Super Trouper album
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1G9mkgLHxk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7AGAC5ugIg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmmXgCWCmh4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=furLyZkfOJM
The 2nd clip is Agnetha & Björn talking about "The Way Old Friends Do", as released on "In Concert" - so Universal should have access on the full programme (for Super Trouper Deluxe!)!

Does anybody know more about Agnetha obviously fainting in this clip?
Which programme is it? What happened exactly?

Thanks anyway, Mira. I had a look through the 70's entries on ABBAonTV, but couldn't find any hint.

In the meantime here's another link from a clip by forum member abbataheri (Thank you!)
"I'm Still Alive" - Live in Japan 1980 (photo show)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21RzPKkAEAk
It's good quality and different from the Budokan recording I know!

:boogie: Wonderful interview. Unfortunately the entire interview can't be seen on Youtube. She's absolutely very charming and kind towards the Dutch fans.

I don't know where to put it, so I've chosen this topic. It's obviously fan-made clip, but this piece of music... . I haven't heard it before. It's mentioned on "abba-world" website - And The Wind Cries Mary

That vid of Voulez Vous from modernmille says "Aplauso 1979, Spain". It may have been shown on TV in Spain in 1979, but I doubt the performance was from '79. When and where was it made? :)

Oh yes it was very much 1979, the Voulez Vous year. Check out Frida's hairdo and you can't be wrong :D

Everybody, can you please include a short description of the video you want us to see? There's nothing wrong with a surprise of course, but still...

Come on, we all know what kind of crap appears on Youtube, you should not pay any attention to it, and instead of that enjoy the nice videos which can be found there!

Thank you very much Mira, for that link, that interview is very wonderful. The Dutch fans from many years ago seem to receive Frida a solo artist with the same enthousiasm as they gave a enjoyed ABBA.

Here's a link of the Hootenany Singers with Gabrielle in Dutch!
They do a pretty good job if you ask me. They can even pronounce the G!

Hey Waterloo, these are Vids are great. Iv'e not seen that one of TDBYC before. That's the best remix iv'e heard of that one yet!, love the weather effects and how it all fits in with the whole story. Makes it more atmospheric than ever. And all inside a "post" window space inside this forum, how cool is that? Thanks for sharing these.

Yes, fantastic, Tania! It´s a great live performance by all four.

Waterloo, if you read this, here you can notice, that "for giving it to me" is sung in unison, only the last "for giving it to me" is sung solo by Agnetha.
