a historical, geographical or cultural word for a song....
Abba Friends,
There is a game called historical, geographical and cultural word for a song….
You need to post a clue with one word (historical, geographical or cultural) and we must find the right song, but the most important is our explanations, in these explanations are all what we are…..
Thanks for our participation
Lionel
Ps this game was a challenge between Yvana and I , in our old Abba site….
Fire&Ice - 11.10.2006, 23:27
YEEEAHHH!!
Thank you Lionel!
Shall we wait for Daniel to post the clue, I think it was his turn. In fact, he had already posted the clue there but I can't remember which one it was!
spong - 11.10.2006, 23:33

hi Yvana and Gary,
I think Daniel will come soon, but actually he gives some music lessons to children....
but Gary when you went away from the old site , I remember you had to post a clue because it was your turn , perhaps Daniel may let his turn for this times , and you just need to put yours now....
amitiés à tous,
lionel
Fire&Ice - 11.10.2006, 23:59
I remember it had to do with trains and stations..! But Gary did not have Just another town another train in mind!
spong - 12.10.2006, 00:37
hello
this is what i wrote:
"hello
sorry , Lionel , MammaMia512 is right...told you it would be simple.
now: bearing in mind she does not want to do the next one (and i can understand why , it takes a lot of effort to keep up with these wonderful posts) , why don't you do the next one?
unless Gill or Daniel fancy their hand? (sorry if i missed anyone)
good hunting with a good clue : i'm ready.
gary"
so mine was guessed. do you want to know something really silly?
i cannot remember the song!....lol

abbelionah - 12.10.2006, 22:51
Hello Friends,
I don't know where are Aphadnis or Mamma Mia, but hope they will come on this wonderfull site soon...
Alladin
that's my clue......
amicalement,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 12.10.2006, 22:52
Mmmmm the magic lamp?
'It's maaagic"? Take A Chance On Me?
abbelionah - 12.10.2006, 22:57
No , but in a certain way you could have right...
amicalement,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 12.10.2006, 23:04
When I think of Alladin, a flying carpet comes to mind....
"Flying high, high, like a bird in the sky.." Eagle?
abbelionah - 12.10.2006, 23:08
Yvana,
I am sure you will find very quicly this clue, but it's just to begin again the game....

PeopleNeedLove - 13.10.2006, 02:32
I never got to try this game on the old site.........
Is the object to guess the song described by the clue? So in other words, "Aladdin" refers, in some way, to an ABBA song?
Wow- That's hard. But challenging.
"Aladdin." Hmmmmmm. I'll give it thought...........
Matt
Fire&Ice - 13.10.2006, 08:55
I keep thinking about the lamp ---- it gives light so could it be Lovelight?
abbelionah - 13.10.2006, 10:38
hello ,
think about a travel or something like that....
Simbad .....Alladin
amicalement,
Lionel
abbelionah - 13.10.2006, 21:31
I will give another clue, I think Aphadnis and Mamma Mia missed .....and where is Daniel too!
let's think about Simbad.....he song with BjÖRN AND AGNETHA ?
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 13.10.2006, 21:39
Something with adventure...? I'll have to think about it!
abbelionah - 13.10.2006, 22:46
Yvana,
Is it so difficult ?
Think a song for Gill or Merton......
amitiés,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 13.10.2006, 23:45
Then it is Fernando!
But I don't see connection with Sindbad or Alladin?
PeopleNeedLove - 14.10.2006, 03:27
I've thought about this ALL DAY- and nothing....... :(
Great game, though- I just can't get this one........
Matt
abbelionah - 14.10.2006, 10:39
Hello Guys,
I ask myself if it was a good clue finally…..
No sorry Fernando….I remember it was the favourite song of Merton, but not a adventurer, simply a dreamer ,I think….there are 2 versions for this song , in 2 tongues ……
Amitiés,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 14.10.2006, 13:44
I keep thinking of Gill. I know she likes Fernando and Move On.
So - Move On? If it is, the clue makes sense.
MammaMia512 - 14.10.2006, 17:34
Wow. I feel like I'm home again. Great to see everybody!
Fire&Ice - 14.10.2006, 17:45
HEYYY MM512! Very glad to see you back home!
Without you this game wouldn't be complete, so to say.
Now only aphadnis is missing.. :(
MammaMia512 - 14.10.2006, 17:47
Great to see you too! I like your new nickname (are you alluding to Frost's poem?)
Yes, we need to reunite our little family! :)
Fire&Ice - 14.10.2006, 17:49
Not Frost's poem but Frida's cover of Pat Benatar's Fire And Ice - my favourite Frida-sung song. :)
abbelionah - 14.10.2006, 21:18
Champagne Yvana!
well, Mamma Mia, I am so happy to see you again on the new site!
hope Aphadnis will find it too.
Yvana ,we are waiting for you clue now.
amitiés,
Lionel
MammaMia512 - 14.10.2006, 21:49
Thank Lionel, it's so good to be back! :)
Fire&Ice - 14.10.2006, 22:47
Here we go...
Think of a film genre!
abbelionah - 14.10.2006, 22:49
Fantasy , Is it the right direction ?
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 14.10.2006, 22:56
No! :)
MammaMia512 - 14.10.2006, 22:59
Hmm...Romance?
abbelionah - 14.10.2006, 23:01
or adventure ?
Fire&Ice - 14.10.2006, 23:21
Neither!
You'd be surprised!
abbelionah - 15.10.2006, 00:33
do you think about a detective roman?
8)
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 15.10.2006, 00:38
Hehe! No! It's not a thriller and this genre isn't that popular any more!
Something like "High Noon"!
abbelionah - 15.10.2006, 00:47
so Neither Agatha Christie, niether Exbrayat ....
well, not easy but could it be something about a Marylin French, I confess I don't know what sort of good writter she could be...but if she was the novel writter, i propose The Day Before You Came , the favourite song for ever and ever of Ron.....
but I have another song if it wasn't this song...
help Mamma Mia, Gary( the both), Daniel( he begins a new year ), and all the other guys, I can't find alone, I feel alone and to be abandoned....
:(
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 15.10.2006, 00:50
It's not TDBYC!
But you have to get back to the film genre!
I bet Daniel would be a great help with this question + High Noon (the film that belongs to that genre)
Here is an extra help - which country does the BEST shoes ever?
abbelionah - 15.10.2006, 00:53
Well,
Is it a song about Italy ?

hello Friends,
So long, see you honey
can’t buy me with your money
Tracy, Daisy, they may be crazy
could it be So Long, I remember now one of the old clue with Daisy*, when we searched the good song , one of us had said So Long, I guess a High Noon is allright...

*Daniel had found the good song....and it was his turn, but waiting for him

CHAMPAGNE for spong! Yes, it is. The film genre I had in mind was Western, then I wanted to associate it with italian food like spaghetti because there is Spaghetti Western and of course finally with Mamma Mia.

“I cannot do a thing with it”….
Do you think about an undeleted song?
The first one coming in my mind is Just Like That ….
But it should be a miracle if I have found the right song immediately!
Amitiés,

hi there abbelionah
Gary was on about making something , a good as the original, so that would leave As good as new.
my historical question would be
Greek Tradgedy
abbelionah - 16.10.2006, 22:31
don't mind, but I haven't understood...
Greak tragedy
cassandra........but why it's the story between the Trojan and the Greeck, a famous legend which told the love of Paris for Helen....
amicalement,
Lionel
spong - 17.10.2006, 00:38
hello
do not worry Lionel , here's the explanation.
the thing they had was brand new when they got it.
over a certain amount of time , use makes it not work as well.
so they bring it to me and i fix it so it works AS GOOD AS NEW>
i think you are right about CASSANDRA.

Hi Guys,
I'd like remember to a certain person I have revival this game after a demand...but for instance no many interests.....
amicalement,
Lionel
jacko10 - 17.10.2006, 13:18
abbelionah well done
your turn
Fire&Ice - 17.10.2006, 18:05
I have to say I am glad Lionel has guessed it is Cassandra, as the has often thought of this song even earlier on Abbasite but he was usually wrong...
Lionel, we are interested in it! Sometimes it is hard to give it a guess though, but I like it because this game demands quite some intellectual effort as well.
By the way, Jack - can you post "Your impressions of the song"? It was a lovely game - it wasn't exactly a game in fact - I have seen it as a personaly analysis of the lyrics. I loved playing it on the AFF! :)
abbelionah - 17.10.2006, 20:57
Hello Yvana,
You are right, and I have said it in the past, when we posted a clue, the more important wasn’t the song but our analysis about this song…the opposite should give a game a bit boring!
The Perfume…..is my clue
Amicalement,
Lionel
ps where are Mamma Mia , Daniel and our dear Aphadnis....? :?
Fire&Ice - 17.10.2006, 21:03
The Perfume.... something that has a lovely scent... I somehow tend to think it's Tropical Loveland but I know I am wrong..
I'll be back anyway!
abbelionah - 17.10.2006, 21:39
No Yvana, think the movie...
Fire&Ice - 17.10.2006, 23:27
Oh! There is one named The Perfume? I haven't seen it anyway...
Hopefully somebody has!
abbelionah - 17.10.2006, 23:29
another clue
Grasse, Paris
Fire&Ice - 17.10.2006, 23:31
 When you say Grasse I think of you!
But if it is Paris as well, then a city comes to mind. I am the city?
abbelionah - 17.10.2006, 23:36
Grasse is the town where the action of the movie should end...in fact in the book it was there..
Grasse is the town of the Perfume for the foreign people and the French too, but Paris is the capital of France; Grenouille the hero , begun his special carrier in Paris, in the book ...I have said the movie , because actually it's a movie hit.
What is my song and explain , please....
amicalement;
lionel
Fire&Ice - 17.10.2006, 23:56
Whenever you mention Paris, I have to think of Our Last Summer. Now that you're mentioning the beginning of a career, there is Harry whose career is mentioned in OLSummer - he is working in a bank, even though it is not the beginning of a career.
Our Last Summer? Am I right? :)
abbelionah - 18.10.2006, 00:00
no, but it was a good guess!..
I think I will add Autun another town in France
Fire&Ice - 18.10.2006, 00:05
If you keep mentioning France, it reminds me of Napoleon!
Is it the right direction :?:
abbelionah - 18.10.2006, 00:07
Yes, but why Autun...... :?:
Fire&Ice - 18.10.2006, 00:26
Because it is a French town? I don;t know much about French cities..
So - Waterloo!
Why Waterloo - because France is all around me - The Perfume, Grasse, Paris, Autun - could it be Napoleon's route?
abbelionah - 18.10.2006, 00:38
it's right about Waterloo, but it's late and you cab post your clue ...
I will explain all my clue tomorrow, but not now, because I have asked a friend to search about the reason for Autun ..
yes, Grasse is a part of the Napoleon's route to Waterloo...
Paris his capital, and Autun what about this town :?:
but champagne HIP  FOR YVANA
Lionel
MarryMeAgnetha - 18.10.2006, 08:33
Lionel,
I can't believe it took me this long even to realize that you revived this game in the new forum! AAAAAUUUGGGHHHHHH! But anyway, now that that's out of my system, I'm glad you did revive it, and it's great to be back in the game. I hope Aphadnis and the other missing players find out about the new forum and show up soon.
By the way: I have no idea about the current clue.
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 18.10.2006, 16:39
Better late than never Daniel! And there was no clue, I guessed Waterloo.
Here is a new clue:
They are popular in a circus.
jacko10 - 18.10.2006, 17:26
Flame throwers?
abbelionah - 18.10.2006, 19:14
Hello Yvana, Daniel, Jack and Gary, hope Mamma Mia could with her school work comes sometimes and Aphadnis find the road for the Site…
Concerning Autun, in my last post, Yvana, Autun comes from Augustus, in fact it’s a Latin town in France, Augustus the first emperor In Roma,( similitude with Napoleon), in addition the young Napoleon Bonaparte came in Autun when he was 10 years old , and there during one year he went to school before integrated the military school in Brienne….after it’s History….
For you clue Yvana, in the Circus you can find some Ring, and Bell and why not Ring Ring…
Amitiés,
Lionel

abbelionah - 19.10.2006, 19:46
Hi Yvana,
I am so stupid, a marionnette of course.....
I am a marionnette...perhaps perhaps perhaps (DORIS or AGNETHA ?)

abbelionah - 19.10.2006, 20:09
Oh! I can't believe it! :)
I would have known that I’m a marionette was too easy…
In a Circus, we can find some acrobats, clowns, horses,…it looks like the Super Trouper’s Cover, but I don’t think it’s the song….
I will think more intensely!
Amitiés,
Lionel

You've mentioned the thing!
Sinikka - 19.10.2006, 20:19
Hello,
May I join in. We have clowns in a cirkus.
So would the song be "The King Has Lost His Crown" as there's a reference to a clown?
"He's clumsy like a clown"

of course , of course....now we are waiting for the Yvana's answer.

Champagne Anne!
Your clue is next! :D
Sinikka - 19.10.2006, 21:08
Thanks :D
OK, let's have a try. It is something that soldiers used to wear.
Anne
abbelionah - 19.10.2006, 21:23
Hi Anne,
There are 2 songs which could be your song.
First the Piper, because in the past the soldiers used to play on pipers and drums to help knowing the road for their friend soldiers in the mist of the battles …
The second Eagle, the soldier had a flag in her hands , but one of the most famous flag is the Roman’s flag with its Eagle….so it could be Eagle too!
But I think I am wrong….
Amitiés,
Lionel
Sinikka - 19.10.2006, 21:43
Hello Lionel,
Good guesses but not quite right. Think of the hint: it is something that a soldier is *wearing*. It is a piece of garment. And, actually, the piece of garment is in a metaphor.
Anne
MarryMeAgnetha - 20.10.2006, 00:58
Soldiers used to wear big plumes in their helmets. The costume Benny wore at Brighton as ABBA won the ESC had a big plume (not on a helmet, but on his shirt.)
As for your metaphor, "a feather in one's cap" means "being acknowledged for a great accomplishment."
So I'm guessing Waterloo.
--Daniel

Budgie album: Bandolier.

Sinikka - 20.10.2006, 16:26
Hi Daniel,
All good guesses but you are all going too far from the actual song. The metaphor occurs in the ABBA song that I have in mind. The soldier's garment is mentioned in that metaphor. The metaphor has an actual reference to a way how people were punished in old times. Nowadays, the expression is merely a metaphor and its meaning is abstract, not concrete. Did this help you at all?
Anne
Fire&Ice - 20.10.2006, 20:56
No, but I am very interested! I haven't posted because I don't have any idea, but I can tell you one thing crossed my mind - the pyjamas (as the garment, but I realized later on it doesn't have much to do with a uniform! )
"striped pyjamas that I bought".. :D

OK, I will give you more help. The metaphor in the song is connected with a whirl of lace....
Anne
abbelionah - 20.10.2006, 22:56

gary
Sinikka - 21.10.2006, 08:36
SPONG BRILLIANT!!!
Yes, Head Over Heels!
"running the gauntlet in a whirl of lace"
gauntlet is a piece of soldier's garment that they used to wear,
"run a gauntlet" was a punishment in the old times, in which 2 rows of men beat a man running between them. Nowadays it is used only figuratively.
Anne
abbelionah - 21.10.2006, 09:15

MarryMeAgnetha - 23.10.2006, 01:16
Hello all, I'm back. I seem to have fixed my computer problem.
I was about to post a clue after all, but since Lionel has so graciously filled in, I'll wait to use my clue until next time I win.
Thanks for your help, Lionel! As long as I'm here, I'll have a guess. I'll guess I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do because once ABBA did a video of it in which Benny and Björn walked in on Frida and Agnetha having a picnic (in the grass) with two guys. B&B asked them to leave, and the two guys -- evidently martial artists -- flipped Benny and Björn, then left (because they didn't really want to hurt them?). The saxophones were in the background playing the music (the sound was so nice).

abbelionah - 23.10.2006, 01:19
Champagne Daniel,
when I have posted this clue I hope you will not find it immediately, but as you can see actually I am very tired!
thanks for your reply.
amicalement,
Lionel
it's your turn really
MarryMeAgnetha - 23.10.2006, 01:35
Lionel,
It's hard to know how much to say when giving a clue. If you say too little, the clue is too hard; but if you say too much, someone gets the clue immediately before everyone gets a chance to guess. That's just part of the game, I think.
So speaking of clues, here's a particularly silly one. I thought of it a long time ago, back when we were playing this game on ABBAsite. I don't think I used it then because it's so silly, but now that it's my turn really and I can't think of anything else, I'll use it.
Clue: Even if you meet a real vampire, you won't be able to say this.
--Daniel
PS: I hope I didn't use this one already!
abbelionah - 23.10.2006, 01:46
Hi Daniel,
I think I am a bit tired, before I used to post some clever clue, but actually….
Well, when I meet a vampire, first I would like he will be kind with me, in the opposite, I don’t want to chat with him….second, mainly the vampire has red eyes, and these eyes remind much more some demon eyes than angel eyes…
I propose Angeleyes.
Amicalement,
Lionel
Nathan - 23.10.2006, 01:56
At first I thought of "Hole In Your Soul" - but as it's not called "Hole in your chest, after I've driven in a stake", I decided to discard it ;-)
I reckon it's my least favourite Abba song - and "this man cries" when he listens to it ;-)
Am I right? Or should I "reflect" more on it?
;-))))))
MarryMeAgnetha - 23.10.2006, 06:25
Lionel,
I liked your answer, even though it wasn't the right song. The most entertaining aspect of this game comes from stating the reasons for one's answer, allowing the rest of us to follow the writer's reasoning.
Nathan,
Champagne! But for the sake of the very few upon whom the subtlety of your allusion was lost, would you mind stating the song title and the reason for your choice before you give the next clue?
--Daniel
PS: "Hole in your chest, after I've driven in a stake"
Nathan - 23.10.2006, 08:49
*pop* (that's the Champagne opening) :-)
I was referring to "I Saw It In The Mirror", of course :-)
I've never followed this game before, so I'm not sure if this has been done. Erm. Hope I don't make it too easy! But here goes:
This wordless rogue did the fandango for a Queen and barely saw the light of day.
Fire&Ice - 23.10.2006, 08:56
I'm following lyrics from a Queen song so - Galileo?
I suspect I am in a completely wrong direction..
abbelionah - 23.10.2006, 09:57
Thanks Nathan,
but with Champagne don't be drunk !
now it's your turn ...

Lionel
Sinikka - 23.10.2006, 15:32
Mamma Mia is at least mentioned in that Queen song so I say
Mamma Mia!
Anne
MarryMeAgnetha - 23.10.2006, 16:55
Lionel,
Nathan did post a clue. It was the last sentence of his latest post, and it reads as follows:
"This wordless rogue did the fandango for a Queen and barely saw the light of day."
Don't worry, your English is great. It's certainly better than my French.
--Daniel
PS: If anyone's confused about Nathan's answer to the previous clue: Vampire lore claims that vampires can not leave reflections in mirrors. So even if you ever met a vampire, you could not say "I Saw It In The Mirror."
MarryMeAgnetha - 23.10.2006, 16:59
Oh, yes, back to the game:
Sinikka and Yvette are on the right track, but I'm pretty sure Nathan is referring to Scaramouche. He's a famous dancer, after all.
Good one, Nathan.
--Daniel
Nathan - 23.10.2006, 18:48
They were indeed close, Daniel - but you hit the nail on the head :-)
This wordless rogue (because it's an instrumental song = no lyrics)
did the fandango for a Queen (yep you all got that bit "Scaramouche! Scaramouche! Can you do the fandango?")
and barely saw the light of day (as it was only released in part on Undeleted)
Well done :-)
Sinikka - 23.10.2006, 18:57
Gosh, what a good clue. I did not even remember that there was such song as Scaramouche!
Champagne for Daniel!!
Anne
Fire&Ice - 23.10.2006, 20:53
 Excellent clue!!!
At least I was in the right direction, I was thinking and thinking what had come before the "will you do the fan-dan-go" in Queen's song but I couldn't remember! :P
Lionel, no worries about your English!!! We all understand you, and we'll try to make it easy that you can understand us as well!
No blushing!
Nathan - 23.10.2006, 22:14
Thanks for the compliments, ladies. And sorry, Lionel, for not having pointed out the clue more clearly. I'll do better next time! :-)
Now, I believe it's Daniel's turn again :-)
abbelionah - 23.10.2006, 22:23
Hello Nathan, :)
yes we are waiting for Daniel, but I suppose he has some work today with his pupils....
or in other way I have spent all my money for Abba today, Arrival de Luxe, 2 Dvds and the Anne Sofie Von Otter's tribute...can't tell how much...
see you soon
Amitiés,
Lionel
ps Yvana I will try not blushing , and Anne your topic Trivia is very fantastic, but for instance apart thinking you and Yvana are Agnetha and Frida I haven't helped you very much :(
MarryMeAgnetha - 24.10.2006, 02:19
Once again, excellent clue Nathan.
I wish I could come up with one as clever, but I guess I'll have to settle for this:
Wonderland
--Daniel
Sinikka - 24.10.2006, 06:19
Hmmm... Tropical loveland?
Anne
MarryMeAgnetha - 24.10.2006, 09:12
Nope, but not a bad guess for no more of a hint than I've given.
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 24.10.2006, 09:17
I keep thinking about TL as well..
Can we have another clue Daniel? :)
MarryMeAgnetha - 24.10.2006, 09:32
Well, I'm thinking of the Wonderland from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 24.10.2006, 10:04
Alice met the striped cat - therefore The Tiger.
She also met the fast rabbit who is always late... this does not tell me anything. :(
But finally she meets the Queen and plays a cricket game with her.. so I propose - Dancing Queen. :?:
abbelionah - 24.10.2006, 11:02
Hello Guys,
Daniel, when you wrote wonderland I think immediately Alice, in some songs Björn has written this name, why I suppose it’s a secret and a joke in the same time, but my first proposition goes to Happy Hawaii, where the name Alice is written or 2 for the price of one where you find the name again….
Perhaps it’s another song.
Amicalement,
Lionel
Sinikka - 24.10.2006, 12:56
It's 24 years I've been living next door to Alice :D. LOL! Wrong band.
I've always thought that the person living 24 years next door to someone and not able to proceed in anyway, got what he deserved :D.
Anne
abbelionah - 24.10.2006, 13:03
Hi Anna (Agnetha,) :D

MarryMeAgnetha - 25.10.2006, 03:12
Sorry for taking so long to get back to all your brilliant reasoning. Too bad we live in such different time zones, but I guess it can't be helped.
Dancing Queen, Tiger, and Happy Hawaii were all good guesses for good reasons, but not what I was looking for. This is good playing, guys. You're telling the reasons for your guesses. That's what makes the game fun, of course.
OK, I think we need more hints. Think of how Alice managed to go to Wonderland, or even of how she got back home.
--Daniel
Nathan - 25.10.2006, 04:53
Through the looking glass? Not "I Saw It In The Mirror" AGAIN!!!??
;-)
No, she got to Wonderland through a rabbit hole initially, if I remember correclty.
The only hole I can think of is "Hole In Your Soul" but that doesn't ring true.
I'm stumped, I'm afraid. :-(
MarryMeAgnetha - 25.10.2006, 07:54
Nathan,
You're right, it's not I Saw It in the Mirror again! I promise I'll never be that lame.
At any rate, Alice gained entry to a fantastic realm by means of a mirror in "Through The Looking Glass," not in "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."
Alice seemingly gained entry to Wonderland through a rabbit hole, but now think about how she got out of that World, and what that says about the World she visited.
--Daniel
abbelionah - 25.10.2006, 08:04
Hello Guys,
I must go and work now, I can't take the times to think about....but I hope to see this afternoon the result.
immediately I propose only S.O.S because it's the cry Alice could have put when she fall in the hole, and when she was in this Wonderland , not a true lovely land...
amicalement,
Lionel
MarryMeAgnetha - 25.10.2006, 08:24
Again, think of Alice's exit from her fantastic World, and what kind of World it must have been.
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 25.10.2006, 08:42
It must have been a --------- Dream World! :D
I won't be back today till 6 pm, so if I am right, and if someone feels like posting a clue, pls go ahead, just to keep the game going.
Nathan - 25.10.2006, 15:58
Yes, you're right Ivana.. I was just going to post the same thing after having read Daniel's first reaction to my last post ... but reading to the end of the thread, I see you beat me to it :-)
Seeing as you say "keep the game going"... I'll post a new clue... in the hope that Daniel logs on and says that we were right. Mind you, we have to be as he practically spoon-fed us the answer :-)
Okay, take note - Lionel, are you paying attention? ;-) - this is the clue:
"Not the D track"
abbelionah - 25.10.2006, 16:10
Hello Yvana, and Nathan,
I believe you have found the true song, but I will think about:"Not the D track"....
Lionel
abbelionah - 25.10.2006, 16:36
When I think about D track , it seams a word for a joke:
May I propose As Good As New, because what is D track is broken (it could be the Visitors), but the clue is:" it is not D track" so is New and Good....
for instance the only song in my mind is
As Good As New
Amitiés,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 25.10.2006, 19:59
Hmm! When you say "D track" and not being one, only Click Track comes to mind.. but this is Agnetha, so I might be wrong.. :(
spong - 25.10.2006, 22:36
hello
to get into wonderland she had to go to a table.
on the table was a bottle with "drink me" on it and a cake with "eat me" on it.
now i think i know what it is , but i'll start with "ROCK ME"
gary
spong - 25.10.2006, 22:37

oh , i just edited this as i see Nathan's plug to Lionel
it's
CRAZY WORLD
gary
Nathan - 26.10.2006, 00:12
Hmmm. It *could* actually be Crazy World, Spong. Good one. Let's see what Daniel says.
Okay - I think my clue was really a little too difficult - though the answers were good.
I'll make it very simple. You need another letter other than D and you need another word for track. You then need to misspell it and stick it together. LOL.
abbelionah - 26.10.2006, 00:20
Hi Nathan,
yesterday wasn't the Day for I do I do I do on the Abba site?, it wasn't the video of the day , I think, and perhaps it the reason why you wrote "Lionel pay attention.".... D for Day, and not the the D track, but it could be I am Just a Girl , another one of my favs
I propose I do I do I do I do I do
Amitiés,
Lionel
Sinikka - 26.10.2006, 06:21
Nathan, could it be Under A-ttack?
Anne
Nathan - 26.10.2006, 12:37
:-) The reason I wrote that you should pay attention, Lionel, was merely because you missed the last clue ;-)
Good answers - and Anne is on the right track.. or in the right lane? ;-)
abbelionah - 26.10.2006, 15:54
Hello People,
no more answers....or what ?
I see, it's a joke with the word , so.Under Attack is the last single, but we know Thank YOu For The Music ended the show, the other version for this song is called the Doris Day version, Day or D day, but is not the D track so it's the usual version for TYFTM....
Amitiés,
Lionel
Nathan - 26.10.2006, 16:22
Well, it's actually much, much simpler than that :-)
Before I disclose the answer, have another go:
I've already given you the answer to the 'track' bit. Try using a letter (hint it's a vowel) in front of that word and you'll have the phonetical answer. You'll need to spell it correctly to win though: obviously ;-)))
Sinikka - 26.10.2006, 16:40
LOL! It is ELAINE!!
E+ lane is another word for track!!
I just love this game, especially when you get such smart clues :D .
Anne
Nathan - 26.10.2006, 17:10

Nope :D.
Maybe more correct would be to say a duplicate tune ;-).
Anne
Nathan - 28.10.2006, 19:57
We seem to have two clues at the moment... that's good. We have more work to do :-)
Lionel's clue: Perceval by Chretien de Troyes
Perceval, the Story of the Grail (French:Perceval, le Conte du Graal), to give it its full title can be researched here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perceval%2C_the_Story_of_the_Grail
I'm stuck on that at the moment - because I'm quite tired. But I'll check back and see how you're getting on :-)
Anne's clue: I, in this duplicate vision/tune, am a man
Hmmm. Rubberball Man - being the duplicate "vision" of Under My Sun, by any chance?
MarryMeAgnetha - 28.10.2006, 21:35
Hello Players,
Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you. I was gone for a couple of days -- suddenly called out of town for a funeral.
The happier news is: yes, Miss Fire and Ice was correct.
I'm glad you continued the game. It would have been silly to stop everything just because I was missing in action for a couple of days!
OK, I'm going back to read what I missed. See you soon with a guess, I hope.

you have noticed two clues were played on the game, mine and the Anne's one....pardon Agnetha(Anne) when I have posted mine you was vanished from the site for a long time and I'm afraid if we don't post any clue the people don't care about it, even when you post one they seam sometimes too lazy to answer ...

I was clueless in this round... :P
abbelionah - 30.10.2006, 18:06
Hello Daniel and Gary, no your propositions are fine but they aren’t the good songs.
There is in Reims, of course the Champagne, but something else important, the Phial with Holly Oil given by the White Dove during the Clovis Baptism ……remember the other legend about the Grail! It was with this Holly Oil the Reims bishop used to crown the French King, in the cathedral …I can’t tell anymore; think about a Smile…..
Amicalement,
Lionel
Nathan - 30.10.2006, 22:10
Is it The King Has Lost His Crown? (If it is, I deserve no praise as you had to spoonfeed us the answer) :-)
abbelionah - 30.10.2006, 23:47
No Nathan,
it is a little more difficult...look about Reims and the Smile, it's the cathedral's emblem, in addition the fairy tale or the Perceval's legend could give a sense to this song too..
but thanks for your help in this clue.
:D
Amitiés,
Lionel
Nathan - 30.10.2006, 23:50
I have a sneaky suspicion that you're the only one here that knows anything about Reims, Smile and Perceval. :-)
abbelionah - 30.10.2006, 23:54
No , Nathan
I think you will find soon now....google on Reims Cathedral ;and I am sure you will find something with the Smile..after I will explain the reasons ......
amicalement,
Lionel
Nathan - 31.10.2006, 00:16
LOL. That took all of about four seconds. How stupid of me not to have realised that Reims Cathedral and the Notre Dame are one and the same thing! So, obviously you are talking about
Our Last Summer... no?
The Smile being the "laughing in the rain".
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 00:55
Hi Nathan,
I’d like you have found my clue, but sorry, Notre Dame isn’t the same cathedral as Reims Cathedral, your error comes from it was in Reims that Clovis was crowned by St Remy , and after him all the French kings went to Reims for their crowning because of the Holly Oil , and not in Notre Dame de Paris….moreover in front of the Reims Cathedral there is a statue which should have been on the top of the cathedral and not on the bottom, and it’s a particularity of this Cathedral in the wolrd , but why such a statue shouldn’t be at the bottom, because of its smile…it’s like of an invitation of friendship and peace on the world for humanity given by this statue…
Amitiés,
Lionel
Nathan - 31.10.2006, 00:57

abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 01:05
No sorry, it was a good idea, but look Daniel have allready proposed this song and it wasn't .
amicalement,

Anonymous - 31.10.2006, 01:22
two for the price of one is the right answer
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 01:25
Thanks for your answer , but sorry it isn't the good song..but I'd like to know why you have thought it was 2 for the price of 1

I let the music speak
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 01:32
Hello Friend, :D
it's kind of you to answer, but in this topic it's not a chain game( too booring sometimes), so when we have started this we wished to explain all our propositions and all our choices, so I may say no it wasn't your proposition, but for your next answer tell us why you think it could be such or such a song....look at this
in front of the Reims Cathedral there is a statue which should have been on the top of the cathedral and not on the bottom, and it’s a particularity of this Cathedral , but such a statue shouldn’t be at the bottom, because of its smile…it’s like of an invitation of friendship and peace on the world for humanity given by this statue…
amicalement,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 31.10.2006, 01:44
Hi Abbademosuk!
Whenever you suggest a song, you have to give reasons why are you proposing that particular song. So now you have proposed I Let The Music Speak. You must have had an association for that song so Lionel would like to know exactly why.
Back to the topic... the statue symbolizing peace and friendship? All over the world, including humanity - In that case - He Is Your Brother?
spong - 31.10.2006, 01:48
hello
KNOWING ME , KNOWING YOU?
two of the statues of the blessed virgin are close to each other and one looks as if she's realy "knowing" the other
nice one Lionel , it makes a change to have to use my brain on the site!
gary :D
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 01:51
Hi Yvana,
thanks for your help in this game, but for this times it isn't the right answer, it's much easier..when Perceval saw the the Grail , he though the day after it wasn't the reallity, and the Grail is a symbol of peacefull and happyness for everybody, like the Angel with the Smile on the front of the Reims Cathedral...
Amitiés,
Lionel
ps sorry Gary when I have posted my answer to Yvana, I have seen yours , but it isn't the right song.....
Fire&Ice - 31.10.2006, 01:59
In this peaceful solitude... all the outside world subdued.. Like an angel?
Am I right? :)
Anyway, see you all tomorrow it's really late now!
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 02:08
Very good proposition Yvana,
but not it isn't :(
I think somebody will find during our night sleep .....mister Sand Man help us!

Hello Gary
but what means bambloozed ?
No of course it isn't people need love!
see you soon , now I must go to sleep , I am working soon of course today!.... :(

MarryMeAgnetha - 31.10.2006, 02:11
I'm going nuts. I just can't figure it out!
--Daniel
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 08:51
Hello Guys,
when you will know the song, we ought to say," of course it wasn't a difficult one.... "
now I have slept and I am goign to work ....
see you soon
Bisous,
Lionel
Nathan - 31.10.2006, 12:57
abbademosuk - I like "though the fire was so cruel" :-) You can check out the real lyric here: http://www.abbasite.com/music/song.php?id=72
Lionel - I'm still stumped. Sorry! I don't want to just guess one song after the other - there's no point to that. Other than Like An Angel Passing Through My Room - as already suggested - I've no suggestion.
Sorry.
Fire&Ice - 31.10.2006, 14:16
you got us all bamboozled , Lionel, said spong and I agree with him! Which probably means we are all confused!
Maybe Chiquitita who needed to be soothed and conforted?
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 16:11
Hi Yvana ,
with Chiquitita and Like an Angel Passing through my room you are very closed......it could be Like an Angel Passing , but some details failed on this songs for my clue, I have in a first time thinking about this song, but in fact I have choosed another one...but why Chiquitita, because this song is on the same album!.....now, I have offered the clue, but when somebody will give a song , I want the reasons, in other way I think Yvana was the most closed from the song....
thanks for you Nathan, Gary and Daniel and all the friends which are crazy now because of my clue
Amicalement,
Lionel
jacko10 - 31.10.2006, 16:43
Forgive me for Butting in , one of the clues was to do with the Holy Grail?
am I correct?
the Holy Grail was considered a chalice or cup once apon a time. Now its considered a human Bloodline, due to the film the Da Vinci code? so are we talking bloodline, like me and bobby and bobbies brother? or even my Mama Said?
or am I lost too?
sorry if I have led anyone up the wrong path?
Jack
Nathan - 31.10.2006, 16:44
LOL - have you actually *read* any of Lionel's clues, Jacko?
If you're right, I'll eat your hat :-)))
jacko10 - 31.10.2006, 16:47
I am confused the pages go back a long way I sort of scanned them? hehe
that hat was worn in Eygpt Nathan covered in sweat yuk Even I wouldn't eat that!
But I will supply the salt and pepper
lol
Jack
Nathan - 31.10.2006, 17:00
I think it'll be I Have A Dream - because of the "I Believe In Angels" bit. But that's just between you and me... 'cause I can't give a better explanation... even AFTER having had all the clues :-))))
I'm pretty sure I'll not be needing the pepper and salt. :-)))
jacko10 - 31.10.2006, 17:25
I do think you are correct with I have a dream!
abbelionah - 31.10.2006, 17:49
Hello Friends,
Champagne for Nathan!
But now why I Have A Dream,
A dream comes when you are sleeping, but some times good dreams come when you are drunk with Champagne, a bit expensive perhaps…… this song had been often criticised on the site, because some people thinks it was only a song for children, OK, but the legend of Perceval talked about a land where all is wonderful and nice, the peace and the friendship are given by the Grail’s power, it’s the chalice where the Christ’s blood had been preserved…..this Chalice is showed for the common people like the Angel with the Smile on the front of the Reims Cathedral. In addition, the song I Have A Dream talk about fairy tales,.I hope now you are all happy because the clue is over!
It’s your turn Nathan and thanks for all the friends in this topic,
Amicalement,
Lionel
:D
spong - 31.10.2006, 22:35
hello
maybe , Lionel , but no one really knows where the Holy Grail really is , if indeed it is still in existance or it is real.
a Scottish castle anoung others lays claim to that.
i await with baited breath , Nathan.
gary :D
Nathan - 01.11.2006, 04:03
Well, I don't deserve it - so I'll make this one easy.
My mother used to get awfully mad at me when singing along to "I Wonder, Departure" for singing "But who the *HELL* am I ... ?" with such gusto but, had this song been released, she'd have been really P*d off :-)
MarryMeAgnetha - 01.11.2006, 04:03
Lionel,
No need for your little embarrassed smilie. You had a fun clue that made us think. (Although Nathan was evidently the one who did the best research.)
So champagne, Nathan (*clink*), and we can't wait to see what you come up with!
--Daniel
MarryMeAgnetha - 01.11.2006, 04:08
Whoops, looks like I was still typing while you posted, Nathan.
Anyway, I think you're referring to When All Is Said And Done. I'm guessing your mother would object to the line
slightly worn, but dignified, and not too old for sex
--Daniel
Nathan - 01.11.2006, 04:48
You're absolutely correct that she would have objected, Daniel - but by the time that song was released I was a little bit older and wiser. I didn't sing it at the top of my voice :-)
The clue was that she would have been mad "had this song been released" meaning that it wasn't ... well, until many years later and then only as a snippet. :-)
MarryMeAgnetha - 01.11.2006, 04:58
Oh, of course, "had this song been released". That makes a difference. Ah, details.
So now I'll try "Holy Christ what a lousy deal" from Burning My Bridges.
--Daniel
spong - 01.11.2006, 11:30
hello
well done Nathan , who cares who got it it was a real doozy of a slog.
if Daniel is wrong (which would make a change!) i think it may be:
PICK A BALE OF COTTON?
it was a pretty short snippet in a melody and one i absolutely adore.
you could also construe it to be controversial.
gary :D
Fire&Ice - 01.11.2006, 13:32
Let's see. The snippet of the unreleased song would have to have some words in it which your mother would disapprove.....(nasty words and ABBA? That does not go together at all! )
Well, the only unreleased song (not really a snippet..) which comes to mind is JLT....!
Or maybe she would be mad just like that, in an instant..! Oh, whatever... will be back soon..
abbelionah - 01.11.2006, 22:36
Hello Daniel,
You wrote « Holy Christ what a lousy deal » from Burning My Bridge, I have no idea about your clue, perhaps When I kissed the Teacher, because you are a teacher and for students it could be a deal when they succeed to kiss you….
Amicalement,
Lionel
MarryMeAgnetha - 02.11.2006, 00:43
Remember, it's something from an (originally) unreleased song. But I still don't know what it is, or if my guess was right.
--Daniel
Nathan - 02.11.2006, 04:18
Sorry I was missing from action for a while... pc trouble :-)
Yup! Daniel is right. "Holy Christ" would have had my mother climbing the walls as she would have considered it blasphemous. Poor woman, and her youngest son turned out to be an atheist as well as a poof! ;-)
Your turn, Daniel! :-)
Sinikka - 02.11.2006, 06:54
Good morning,
I haven't been here for a while. So I will participate again...
Anne
MarryMeAgnetha - 02.11.2006, 09:29
Sinikka,
Nice to see you again, Anne. In honor of your return, would you like to provide the next clue?
--Daniel
PS: That would also be in honor of the fact that I can't think of anything right now.
Sinikka - 02.11.2006, 18:12
OK Daniel!! I am honoured :D.
The title of this composition refers to something that happened in one of the Northern countries, but it is not Sweden.

OMG ABBAdemosuk!!
You must be interested in history. My thoughts did not go as far as the great Northern war. I thought you referred to a much more recent war (the Winter war in 1939).
But, back to topic. We have now excluded three Northern countries....
Anne
Fire&Ice - 02.11.2006, 20:05
How about Belgium and Waterloo?
Sinikka - 02.11.2006, 21:09
Hi Ivana,
No, it is not Belgium or Waterloo. What Scandinavian country was left out?
Anne
Nathan - 02.11.2006, 22:28
Denmark... but I've only got that far by a process of elimination.
Must think about it a bit :-)
Nathan - 02.11.2006, 22:34

Hi is it the iceland as it'sthe most nothenly country in europe
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
Nathan - 02.11.2006, 22:44
Well, Anne asked "What Scandinavian country was left out?" and the most obvious one is Denmark:
Scandinavia is a region in Northern Europe. A common definition includes Denmark, mainland Norway and Sweden. Sometimes Finland is included, even in official contexts, although since the rise of Scandinavism in 1850s, this inclusion divides opinions in all of the respective states. Also Iceland is occasionally included. (from Wikepedia)

:-)
Anne wouldn't have asked which country was missing but which "countries" were missing if she were using the wider definition. So I'll bet my grandma's hairnet that it's Denmark. But whether Denmark or Iceland, I'm still stumped :-)
Fire&Ice - 02.11.2006, 23:29
If it is Denmark, it could be Hamlet III. Need I say more? :D
abbelionah - 02.11.2006, 23:54
No Yvana,
I think with Hamlett III and Denmark ,we all understand the reasons...but could it be Tulle , with Tristan and Isolde, .....?
AMITIES
Lionel
Sinikka - 03.11.2006, 07:06
Hi all,
WOW!! Ivana, you guessed it!! It was so easy then. Yes, it was Hamlet III as Hamlet happens in Denmark :D.
Ivana, your turn.
Anne
Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 10:29
Ok.. Let's start with the city that never sleeps.. Zzzzzzz
Nathan - 03.11.2006, 10:32
LOL. Well done, Ivana!
Anne wrote "My thoughts did not go as far as the great Northern war"... but The Great Northern War was from 1655-1661 and Hamlet, Prince of Denmark was written between 1598 and 1602 ... so, actually her thoughts *did* go back that far - and further. LOL.
Having said that, I still missed it completely :-)
Looking forward to your clue, Ivana :-)
Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 10:41
It's right there in my last post!
The city that never sleeps.
spong - 03.11.2006, 12:27
hello
that was New York
gary :D
Nathan - 03.11.2006, 13:37
LOL - Sorry Ivana - our posts crossed.
Hmm - As Gary Points out - The City That Never Sleeps is the Big Apple - New York. You're not getting mixed up with Frank Sinatra, are you? ;-)
The only cities that I can immediately think of is the nightmare city of "Tiger" and the obvious "I Am The City".
Anonymous - 03.11.2006, 16:23
New York is a city that never sleeps. But the oringal city that never sleeps was this PATALIPUTRA (INDIA) 200BC
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 16:30
Well, it has not much to do with Pataliputra but yes, it's:
New York, New Yoooork! (new clue)
Now what does this clue tell you? Or better said sing you?
Sinikka - 03.11.2006, 18:34
LOL! It tells about Mamma Mia that has just had its 5th year anniversary on Broadway.
So is it Mamma Mia?
Anne
Nathan - 03.11.2006, 19:19
D'oh!
Well done, Anne.
Sinikka - 03.11.2006, 20:03
Thanks Nathan, although we need to hear Ivana's verdict :D.
Anne
Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 21:52
Nope! Not Mamma Mia!
Pay attention to a particular person singing:
"....in old New York.."
Sinikka - 03.11.2006, 22:03
Hi, again Ivana! Here are the lyrics of New York by Frank Sinatra:
Start spreading the news
I’m leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New york, new york
These vegabond shoes
Are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New york, new york
Bridge 1:
I wanna wake up in the city
That doesn’t sleep
And find I’m king of the hill
Top of the heap
This little town blues
Are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it
In old new york
If I can make it there,
I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you,
New york, new york
Bridge 2:
New york, new york
I wanna wake up in the city
That never sleeps
And find I’m a number one,
Top of the list,
King of the hill, a number one...
This...little town.... blues
Are...melting away,
I gotta make a brand new start of it
In old new york
And if I can make it there,
I’m gonna make it anywhere
It’s up to you,
New york, new yoooooooooork...
New yooork.
I suppose I get the reference. Is it I WONDER? Frida with full of hopes for the future? If it is, what a wonderful clue, Ivana!!
Anne
Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 22:24
Sorry Anne, but it isn't! It would've been a great clue for I wonder indeed!
Who else sang this song besides Sinatra?
Anonymous - 03.11.2006, 22:27
Theses artist have sang new York Robbie willams Dean Martin Sammy Davis jnr Cila black many others as well have sang it.

Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 22:38
I'm looking for a particular female singer :!:
Sinikka - 03.11.2006, 22:41
Liza Minelli? And when I think of Liza Minelli, I think of a song called "Money Makes the World Go Round" from the musical Cabaret
Voilá Money Money Money!
Anne
abbelionah - 03.11.2006, 23:09
Hi Yvana,Anne, Nathan, Abbadelousuk and Gary,
I had some work today, and when I have comen on the game, you have proposed soon 2 clues,....for your clue Yvana it's one of the best clues, but I think I wouldn't have been able to find it, I guess like Anne it should be Money Money Money too...
that's strange, because reading all you have written specially the Gary's notice I have thought immediately to Lisa Minelli , but for the song I haven't found it...in fact is it really MMM ?
Amicalement,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 03.11.2006, 23:20
Just a short - YES, champagne for Anne!
Gotta rush so see you soon! :)
Nathan - 04.11.2006, 02:03
Can't help feeling that that taking Money Money Money from a Liza Minelli song called Money Makes The World Go Around is a little far fetched. I'm beginning to want revenge by brewing up Notre Dame type questions :-p
MarryMeAgnetha - 04.11.2006, 03:51
Wow, that was a stretch all right. But no matter. That's how the game is played.
This game doesn't have many hard-and-fast rules, you know. The only real rule is that one must not merely guess a song, but must also tell the reasons for his or her guess.
OK, we're waiting for the next clue!
--Daniel
abbelionah - 04.11.2006, 08:24
Hi Nathan,
soon you will take revenge by posting such a Notre Dame clue...!

Yes, we're looking forward to the Notre Dame revenge! :D
abbelionah - 04.11.2006, 21:23
Yes, can't wait... 8)
Nathan - 05.11.2006, 00:06
LOL. It's actually Anne's turn ... I was being 'jokingly' petulant in my last post but I appreciate that it's sometimes hard to see humour in words that are written and not spoken with a laughing inflection. So sorry if anyone thought I was really p'd off :-)
Rather than argue whose turn it is though, I'll give you all a really easy one (sorry, no notre dame type question after all - I couldn't be that complicated if I tried! LOL).
This German rent-a-kill fellow speaks a little latin.
:-)
Now, could I have made it any easier???
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 00:27
Are we talking about THE PIPER
Nathan - 05.11.2006, 02:32
Hee hee. You said this thread was too much hard work. It's easier to think up a letter in the alphabet, eh?
Well done, John. You got it and it's now up to you to think up a (harder) clue :-)

London and Stockholm but not my home city of Cardiff

MammaMia512 - 05.11.2006, 17:07
Wow, I've been gone for a while....I'm a terrible person, lol.
And to think, Ivana, your last clue is where I live, New York! (though not the city...too crowded for me, lol).
And Nantes, as to your clue, I have no idea right now!
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 17:23
London and Stockholm are capitals, Cardiff is not....but how does that relate to ABBA  ?

Hi Anne
hope you don't mind me saying
Wales has got it own Goverment now, and is Independant from England the Capital of Wales (The Land of Song) is Cardiff (Although England still governs the purse strings technically

So we are looking for City's?

Hi Jack,
Oh, sorry for my ignorance. I've been to Wales (Aberystwyth) but it was in 1988.
But what's in common with Stockholm and London?
Anne
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 17:46
dont think it has Anything to do with it, Anne as John states ''not my hometown of Cardiff'' Hope this helps however it has something to do with a City?
might be something to do with, a benny composition?
Glasgow? wheres he has put the name of a city in a song?
Aberystwyth is lovely hope you enjoyed you stay!
Jack
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 17:53
Then it is SUPER TROUPER as there's a mention of Glasgow! Oh, it must be that one!
Yes, I enjoyed Aberystwyth and Wales.
Anne
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 17:54
Your a clever thing!!
I forgot that!
I was thinking Glasgow from the B.A.O lol
hope your right!

LOL Jack, I just have a good memory! That's one prerequisite to learn foreign languages :D.
Anne
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 18:01
lol although we could be on the wrong lines?
and it could be Paris as there is a song about a city? our last summer?
Jack
now I have confused things lol
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 18:04
Yes, it could be that one too!
Anne
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 18:24
Hi! Folks its nothing to do with Glasgow, or Super Trouper or even the name of a city. So I think your on the wrong lines,
Oh and Just a bit of trivia Cardiff was made the capital city of Wales in 1955 by HRH Queen Elizabeth II
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 18:45
John
so would I be on the right lines if I said, London- Stockholm anything to do with Travelling or Hoidays?
Jack
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 18:48
Jack not a holiday but here in the UK I know people would go for a weekend break
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 18:56
well two more abba songs bringing in cities are Tiger and I am the city?
Jack
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 18:59
Jacko You are completely wrong, although I name two cities its nothing to do with the name of a city
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 19:02
Pretty Please can we have another clue!
hehe
Jack
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 19:04
this is hard Jack. um
Agnetha and Frida would have been great doing this
abbelionah - 05.11.2006, 19:08
Hi John,
could it be Brighton, it's a pleasant station on the see....and the town reminds Waterloo...of course ever and forever
amicalement,
Lionel
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 19:09
No its not Brighton
Nathan - 05.11.2006, 19:10
That's a hard one :)
"London and Stockholm but not my home city of Cardiff"
Could it be that Cardiff, for you, is "this town" and London and Stockholm are "other towns".. and that you're referring to Another Town, Another Train?
Probably not but it's the best I can come up with right now. LOL.
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 19:10
I have to go, its a name of a song we are looking for.
jacko10 - 05.11.2006, 19:11
So agnetha and frida would enjoy doing something on a weekend break?
hummmmmmmmmmmm
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 19:16
no jacko agnetha and Frida would have been good in this!! not something that they would have enjoy doing on a weekend
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 19:18
No Nathan its not Another town Another Train but my son things that was really good for you to come to that conculsion
John
Nathan - 05.11.2006, 19:25
:-) I realised it wasn't because I took so long posting that one that I hadn't read "Agnetha and Frida would have been great doing this" beforehand. Obviously, that clue makes my guess look pretty stupid :-)
I'm still stumped - but will think about it :-)
abbelionah - 05.11.2006, 20:00
THE NAME OF THE GAME
of course John , when you said London Stockholm and not Cardif , you wanted we remembered the Olympics Games, Stockholm in 1912 was the Olympic town and London 2 times , and soon in the future if a killing comet doesn't break the Earth ...the name of the game is a little reference to the Olympic Games, for lazy sportif! 8)
amicalement,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 05.11.2006, 20:50
no jacko agnetha and Frida would have been good in this!! not something that they would have enjoy doing on a weekend
They would have been good in singing and dancing! What puzzles me is that they wouldn't have enjoyed in doing on a weekend because Nina Pretty Ballerina would...
abbelionah - 05.11.2006, 21:26
Hello Yvana,
I think you are on a good direction with Nina pretty Ballerina, but I 'd like very much John has choosen a songlike So Long!
Remind , Yvana, all these lovely vidoes for this song with Agnetha and Frida in a choregraphy absolutely crazzy ? I love these videos 8)
amicalement,
Lionel
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 22:11

Anonymous - 05.11.2006, 22:13
Is it the thearte where MAMMA MIA is being staged
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
Nantes - 05.11.2006, 22:17
Mamma mia is the right answer but I should have written Prince Edward.not prince of wales Over to you for the next one.
Anonymous - 05.11.2006, 22:22
Freedom
Looking for the song
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 22:33
Hmmm...freedom brings to my mind EAGLE
"over mountains and forests and seas
and to go anywhere that I please"
Anne
Anonymous - 05.11.2006, 22:36
No not Eagle another clue south Amercian
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 22:45
Only CHIQUITITA comes to mind, but that song isn't about freedom or is it? Maybe you can interpret it as freedom from internal obstacles?
Well, then there's FERNANDO that is about freedom, but the song tells
about a Mexican war.
Anne
Fire&Ice - 05.11.2006, 22:48
Could it be Fernando?
They were fighting for liberty (freedom) and they crossed Rio Grande in South America.
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 22:50
But Mexico is not part of South America, is it?
Anne
Fire&Ice - 05.11.2006, 22:51
Oh bummer!
Anonymous - 05.11.2006, 22:51
Anne right there about Ferando but who was Feranando.
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 22:54
According to Björn he was a Mexican revolutionary.
Anne
Anonymous - 05.11.2006, 23:00
Your turn ANNE now
Yours ABBADEMOSUK I know it not Eagle or Chiquitita for my clue
But it was tricky a bit.
Sinikka - 05.11.2006, 23:10
Ok, here's the clue:
This woman is also fiction.
Anne
Fire&Ice - 05.11.2006, 23:21
The only thing that comes to mind is WonderWoman!
Because of that, maybe I Wonder? (I know I am wrong, but what the heck..)
MarryMeAgnetha - 06.11.2006, 00:34
Sinikka,
Cassandra was a legendary figure, so I suppose she was fictitious.
Is it Cassandra?
--Daniel
spong - 06.11.2006, 11:14
hello
mornin' all..
ELAINE?
simply for the line "your like a goldfish in a bowl".
this meand she is being observed , like a legendary figure.
gary
Sinikka - 06.11.2006, 12:05
Hello everyone,
No, it is not CASSANDRA, ELAINE or I WONDER.
She is all fiction, not a historical or legendary figure.
Anne
spong - 06.11.2006, 12:28
hello
I'M A MARIONETTE?
a puppet , totally fictional character
gary
Nantes - 06.11.2006, 12:44
Good one Gary I think you maybe right with that
Sinikka - 06.11.2006, 13:57
Nope, not a doll either. She is a woman, but a fictional one.
She is in this ABBA song, and she is also in a horror story 8).
Anne
Fire&Ice - 06.11.2006, 17:07
 Horror story - CARRIE! Excellent clue if that is it!
I'm Carrie-not-the-kind-of-girl to marry, That's me!
Sinikka - 06.11.2006, 20:18
BINGO Ivana!
I knew you would get it!
Anne

Hello Friends,
I have some problems with internet; so I can't ever reply and say a good day or something like that....
but I'd like to thank MammaMia 512 because she has replied on the topic ; and she wished Aphadnis will find our site.
amicalement,
but it's your turn Yvana
Lionel
spong - 07.11.2006, 00:07
hello
Lionel , it's not just you. this week i've been having problems with the net.
it just seems to me , especially in this country that because the weather has suddenly got so cold , everybody has stayed at home more.
as a result , there are more people using the net , so traffic jam.
looking forward to a new clue
gary :D
Fire&Ice - 07.11.2006, 10:38
So I am not the only one having problems with the net... :(
Ok here the new Notre Dame-type clue! :D
Madonna
Nantes - 07.11.2006, 10:40
Could it be Dancing Queen, as she sang it during her live shows recently.
Fire&Ice - 07.11.2006, 10:51
No it isn't! :D
MarryMeAgnetha - 07.11.2006, 11:00
How about Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! because Madonna sampled from it for her latest single.
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 07.11.2006, 12:24
It's not Gimme gimme gimme either!
That wouldn't be the Notre Dame type of question!
Nantes - 07.11.2006, 14:45
now is it the Madonna of pop we are on about or another Madonna
Anonymous - 07.11.2006, 14:48
Mondna is a kind of god so are you refering to nI'm still alive.
Yours ABBADEMOSUK
abbelionah - 07.11.2006, 16:38
Hello Yvana,
you wrote Notre Dame type clue, and you added Madonna, first I thought Gimme Gimme Gimme, but it wasn't, in addition a Notre Dame Type Clue can't be or perhaps mustn't be too easy
well, in the name Notre Dame you find Dame or Lady, well I think it could be Damme Damme Damme , the spanish version for Gimme Gimme, a Dame with 2 m
amcalement,
Lionel
MarryMeAgnetha - 07.11.2006, 17:47
OO, Lionel, good one!
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 07.11.2006, 20:19
It's the singer Madonna! Now it should be easier!
Lionel, very interesting but it isn't!
I didn't know that Mondna was a kind of god!
spong - 07.11.2006, 23:37
hello
good , one Lionel. even if it wasn't right.
ANGELEYES ?
there are plenty of angels at Notre-Dame and they all have eyes.
(there , that's about as loose as i can get).
gary :D
Fire&Ice - 07.11.2006, 23:55
Please guys! The clue has nothing to do with Notre Dame! I was referring to Nathan's words, I had in mind that my clue would be far-fetched again!
So far we've got: Madonna the singer. I don't want to say more at this point.
I could also add (or even more confuse you but here we go) - Cindy Lauper's song.
spong - 08.11.2006, 00:02
hello
that was "Girls just want to have fun" , wasn't it?
I AM JUST A GIRL (who just happens to want some fun)?
gary :D
Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 00:16
No, it's not I am just a girl, but keep in mind that girls wanna have fun. This one might help you to guess the song later on.
Now let's go back to Madonna!
abbelionah - 08.11.2006, 00:39
that girls wanna have fun
hi Yvana
was really a Madonna song or a Cyndi Lauper, I remember the two girls weren't good friends when Madonna began her carrier.Cyndi Lauper though the first one tried to have the same fashion victim look as the the second and original one Cyndi Lauper....Have you understood....
for instance I haven't any idea ..TRUE!
amicalement,
Lionel
spong - 08.11.2006, 00:55
hello
as it seems you are along the lines , Ivana , of you lot trying to have fun:
"take it easy
try to cool it girl
take it nice and slow
DOES YOUR MOTHER KNOW"?
gary :D
MarryMeAgnetha - 08.11.2006, 02:03
How about My Mama Said? The girl in My Mama Said just wanted to have fun.
--Daniel
Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 09:55
Not My Mama Said!
By the way, I think Madonna copied Cindy's style!
Next clue: Waiting for your call baby night and day
spong - 08.11.2006, 11:21
hello
i assume by the lack of a yes it was not DOES YOUR MOTHER KNOW?
it is no a lyric of the song , but as it my favourite (have i ever mentioned this?) and it is about waiting:
is it RING RING ?
gary :D
Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 12:41
Sorry spong, I missed DYMK but it is not..
Next clue - fed up!
spong - 08.11.2006, 14:26
hello
DISILLUSION?
we all know what that word means , don't we?
and if it is not i have the next one ready.

Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 22:02
Sorry spong and abbademousuk, neither GRINGRIN nor Disillusion..
Madonna sings: "waiting for your call, baby night and day, fed up...." it rhymes with... :?:
Nantes - 08.11.2006, 22:06
its not going to be The winner Takes It All haha!
Just a try
spong - 08.11.2006, 22:15

sorry , Ivana , i do not own one single record of Madonna.
i'm clueless (and i do not know the answer , either!)

Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 22:23
No and no!
It's easier than you think, at least the part of the clue is right in front of you! What is Madonna's recent hit?
spong - 08.11.2006, 22:25
hello

Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 22:28
I hope I won't get hung up by the neck after this turn!

Ok so we have hung up and a girl who wants to have fun and somebody is fed up too............
spong - 08.11.2006, 22:30
hello
HEAD OVER HEELS?
gary :D
Nathan - 08.11.2006, 22:44
From the last clue, I'd have to go with Gary on this ... but I've no idea how the *hung up* bit enters into the equation. I'm having a stoopid evening :-)
jacko10 - 08.11.2006, 22:55
I was thinking Madonna papa dont preach, Cyndi lauper sang daddy dearest girls just wanna have fun? so could it be about ''Hung up'' parents?
My mama said?
Jack
spong - 08.11.2006, 22:58
hello
sorry , Jack. Daniel mentioned MY MAMMA SAID around midnight.
hang on , who's answering this? who's question?

cheers Spong old fella!
abbelionah - 08.11.2006, 23:15
Hello Yvana, 8)
I think about a Notre Dame clue, “thanks Nathan, you are find something new to describe something obscure….”
 But I don’t want to break my head, so I propose a song SO LONG, yes for Fed Up, and for the misunderstanding between our stars Cindy Lauper and Madonna,.actually that’s all, a pity! OK, guys…
 Amicalement,
Lionel
8)
Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 23:42
What is the infinitive of hung?
And a mama appears in the song as well but not in My Mama Said.. :P
Neither song is right! :)

Amicalement,
Lionel
Fire&Ice - 08.11.2006, 23:54
A new page and a new clue!
Here it is: read my last post in this thread and pay attention to a particular name:
http://www.iphpbb.com/board/ftopic-30652567nx61610-351-90.html
It is not Mamma Mia Lionel! :(
abbelionah - 09.11.2006, 00:07
hello Yvana,
I have noticed a name Jonathan , in the beginning I thought it was the name for Abbademosuk, but now I think it 's a part of your clue....Jonathan Livingston, but what about Livingston in fact ?
I remember it was the clue Gary had proposed in the old site.
but Yvana, if it is the good song ,can you explain the reasons ?
Amicalement,
Lionel
what about love and spair ...effectively
Fire&Ice - 09.11.2006, 00:13
Lionel, did you read MY answer to a question? Here is what I wrote there:
"Hi Gary! You'd be surprised to hear that this singer could easily be the clue in another game.
The answer is : Suzy Quatro. It's right there some place in BLDS!"
Ok, look for a name!
spong - 09.11.2006, 00:18

CHAMPAGNE<CHAMPAGNE<CHAMPAGNE FOR SPONG!!!!!!!!!
Here's the explanation - Madonna's hung up should associate with Hang. Conveniently, there is a part of the song with fed up - which implies that the boys in SHA are fed up with Suzy's hanging around, while she just w
