ok guys, only another two weeks and we gonna have our "Mülltonnenrennen" !!! If you ask yourself what the heck a "Mülltonnenrennen" is, here is the answer:
"TRASH CAN RACE" - yeap !!! Crazy people jump on a trash can and race down a hill !!! It´s a lot of fun and we were able to show it to some of the German "stars" in a TV show last Sunday! I´ll put up some pics in my photobucket !!!

I live in the South-West of Germany, near TRIER - Germany´s OLDEST city !!! (over 2000 years old) Have you ever heard of the famous BLACK GATE (Porta Nigra) ... an old roman monument?

yeah ... she had to learn about the old roman culture at school right before she came to visit me and then when we went to Trier I wanted to show her some of the old buildungs she was like "I don´t need to see them!" - Damn it! SHE HAD THE CHANCE !!!

Yes, but at least you can speak more than one language! *lol* I've been working for an Austrian company for 6 years and I still haven't picked up more than about 10 words of German! My boss used to give me such a hard time about that :D
I love history, but tend to get bored quickly in historical places. Once I've seen it I want to move on to something else *lol* I don't think I spent more than an hour at the Colesseum in Rome!

lol but my english isn't that good and sometimes even my German is pretty bad, because I write so much english and start thinking in english.

I've been trying to learn Lakota and wished I knew how to speak other languages - I know some spanish but not a lot.

Yeah, I think in english sometimes. Esspecially in the evenings when I'm talking to you girls or when I'm reading enlish books or watching english movies. But it's pretty confusing when you want to talk German and sometimes even nerve-racking, because sometimes only the enlgish word comes to my mind, but not the German one. :? But my english isn't that good. lol I wished it was better but... well...*sigh*

Well, I had to speak English since I was 6 years old ... I felt in love with a American guy called Greg and he was already 15 at this time btw ... but he wasn´t the reason - lol
I do even have dreams in English and most of the time I really do think in English - sometimes I even start to speak English with my kids - lol - and wonder why they don´t understand me - lol
I have a lot of business contacts in the USA and Canada, so I need to speak English ... and because I need to use it to talk with you all - lol
I think my English is pretty much fluent, but I still have to learn a lot - catching up new things each day is helping me a lot. A friend of mine once told me that my writing is almost perfect, but I doubt it is !
I don´t think that we watch out for each others mistakes - as long as we understand what we are trying to tell, it´s okay - lol
and Idril: your English is good !!! Sometimes maybe a little bit too much School-English, but I have a feeling that will change soon :wink:

jsut read books or newspapers in English, use the language as often as you can and - MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL - post messages on boards like this one ... lol - believe me it helps. The more often you speak or use a language the more you will get used to it ! Better than any English lesson

As some of you already know we do have a TRASH-CAN-RACE here in my town every year in summer. It´s the only one of its kind and always a lot of fun! This year it will take place for the third time. We´ve been lucky to have a pretty good promotion for it and even a famous German TV show was already interested and invited some of the drivers (my son is one of them) to one of their shows last summer. One of the drivers was way too fast and ran into a camera - lol. Now another TV channel has chosen that scene to show it in one of their shows and people can vote! Below is the link to their website and I ask you to vote for number 17 !!! Because it´s in German: click on number 17 - a new site with a pic of the driver will pop up and then you only need to click on OK. At the end of the year the winners will be announced in another TV show! Thanks for your support (also in the name of the "Yes Angels", who are the organizers of the race) Next race will take part on September 8 in Hermeskeil !!! Stop by and have lots of fun - there is also an After-show-party !!! See you there!
