    Megatropolis
Megatropolis is the working title for the next IS album. Let's get all our thoughts down.

Of course, I'm really looking forward to it! I learn so much from IS. And my doctors earn as much ;) (This is a really bad joke, a reference to too much headbanging... lol, and it's not true, I respect my head).

I think I read in an interview that, like BR, the next album will have a few songs as part of the story, and the rest on other subjects.

    Ah, the anticipation! :P

    Re: Megatropolis

    Eldritch - 14.08.2006, 00:37

Hmm, quite an amusing title if they do keep it.

    Re: Megatropolis

    atlantis - 14.08.2006, 05:56

The picture I get is a future cityscape, with a very mechanical look, where the city has more life than those who occupy it. The city itself is a huge machine, a huge mass of artificial intelligence and, like the Savior itself, almost self-aware. Humans are cogs in the machine, working for the benefit of the machine... until the revelation that humans themselves are similar machines in many ways. That they too are systems in their own right, and that it's not just the machine they're living to the benefit of. They grow with it.

Ah heck, this is going waaayy too far :P

Anyway, I like it. Even as the final name.

I am thinking the Replicator city in the latest episode (#5) of Stargate: Atlantis.

Oops.. did I spoil it now? 8)

I didn't know the title had been announced - I'll have to check. I can't help feeling it sounds a bit Sonic the Hedgehog.

    Re: Megatropolis

    atlantis - 22.08.2006, 19:32

    Sonic the Hedgehog! lol

    It's a working title. ;)

    Piet mentioned it here:

    Re: Megatropolis

    Eldritch - 18.09.2006, 22:53

And I wonder how far off it is :)

    Re: Megatropolis

    Rall Schorrdas - 06.02.2007, 01:10

To me thge title sounds a bit negative. Maybe because of Fritz Langs "Metropolis", maybe because "Machine World" and "Brave New World" are songs with a negative climax.
But on the other hand, I can´t imagine an IS-Album with mostly negative songs on it. And a super-city may also have many positive implications and needs not necessarily to be destroyed or so.

    (hälsningar till Norden),

    Rall

    Observador Celeste - 13.02.2007, 20:49

    What's negative anyway?
Quote: To me thge title sounds a bit negative

Well, What can I say? "Dark Assault and "Condition Red" do not sound like good news titles anyways... hahahahahah!

Still they are just great, as usual, so...

I just put my trust in the masters! :D

    Re: Megatropolis

    Eldritch - 13.02.2007, 23:52

Anyone got any news at all about Megatropolis?? Like a song list, release date, if it will be in some obscure alien language, if it will feature Homer Simpson on the cover.. or something.. anything..

    norkompt - 02.05.2007, 15:22

Finally yesterday I listened to Megatropolis for the first time.
My first reaction was: Wow, that's good old Savior! :-)
It's impossible not to recognize this band in 2 seconds even if you're completely deaf!
Piet's and Piesel's guitars roar like Iron Savior's mighty engines, strengthened by the enormous power of Thomas' battery

I don't write about particular songs yet because it's necessery to listen to this masterpiece a few times more but the general impression- AWESOME!

Have you just fallen through a time-warp, or have I missed something vital?

I was looking forward to three thing in this time period of the 24th-8th School ending, Eva release, and Megatropolis release. Eva sucked so lets hope the other two are awesome

    Re: Megatropolis

    metalamazon - 05.06.2007, 17:37

I got it today and I must say from the first listen I like it very much.

    :)

    Re: Megatropolis

    Cryogenix - 24.07.2007, 23:33

I don't know. It's not that I don't like it, it's just seems like the same old stuff repeated, but more boringly. I'm having a difficult time differentiating between albums and songs. And the vocals seem far more plateau'd and consistent, with very little fluctuation, which makes it all seem very unexciting and unclimactic.

I think Iron Savior has run its course for me. Not only do I see a tremendous lack of progress on this latest release, but also a major step backwards in lyrical quality and interest. I'm glad I was able to find the album online for a few pennies a track, because I would've hated to pay full price for this. Even Battering Ram only had a few solid tracks, but they were good enough to make me buy the physical CD. But not this one.

It was a good run fellas. Better than most. You're stagnating now, though.

    Cheers!

    Graehaus - 29.09.2007, 13:19

I disagree, you have to have the right frame of mind. IS, change some of the songs are different, but the music is spot on, hard and fast, some of the titles , I must admit are "different", but after listening to this album what 20 times since getting it. I have to say this is a fun 2 listen 2 album. great work guys.
I am happy to have it in my discography of your stuff. :)
