Buch "The Letter Never Sent ll"
The Letter Never Sent II
ISBN 89913292083
Zitat: Published by the IECEF Adoptee's Homecoming Support Center, this book is the second compilation of letters and poems to be written by Korean adoptees. The publication of the book is aimed at providing an alternative space for adoptees to express their feelings and to help readers listen to these precious voices with the hope of increasing public understanding and awareness about international adoption from Korea. Since the publication of the first book, a few significant events have occurred in the Korean community. Last summer, the third Korean Adoptee Gathering took place in Seoul with close to 450 Korean adoptees attending from all over the world. Two sisters who submitted entries for the first book were later reunited with their birth family during the summer as a result of their appearance on a TV program. They have sent follow-up letters to the publisher after the experience. Other reunions were made with the assistance of the media and adoptee organizations among others. Encouraged by these positive events, the publisher felt the need for another book to promote further education about adoption and to assist in the successful search for birth families. The book is expected to help adoptees in their search for their birth families while helping readers gain something special from the shared experience and emotions of these individual stories.
