    Need A/C id..
    Hello all,

    In the area were 1 lancaster and 1 halifax crashed i found these parts.
    Due to the green colour and large rivets i "think" these are US parts?
    1 part is stamped with the following nr; 582R
    No further stamps to be found on the parts.
    Only to see is that there was written by hand on the opposite piece
    as you can see in the red circle.

    Who can help me out, main questions are;

    Are these UK or US parts?
    What is the stamp telling?
    Many thanks!

    Also checked the data from armyairforces.com and the book Eagles of
    Duxford by Garry L. Fry but no mention of a loss on that date... :roll:

    the part in the red circle looks like it could be a repair or later addition?. note, there is no paint in the rivet holes. the blue writing looks like it could have been put there when shaping the part and drilling the holes? a patch maybe?.

    the numbers look to be American. likewise, the base paint.

    Cheers
    Roy
