Ja, Cozy Powell war der Drummer der Brian May Band und bei der 'Back To The Light Tour' mit dabei. Er sollte eigentlich auch bei der 'Another World Tour als Drummer dabei sein, aber leider verstarb er ja kurz vorher. :cry: Für Brian war das ein großer Schock, weil Cozy nicht nur ein Bandkollege, sondern auch ein sehr sehr guter Freund war.

Paul ist ein Zwerg. Ein Freund von mir hat die drei vor Kurzem in den USA getroffen und er selbst ist auch ein bisschen über 1,70. Paul war noch kleiner als er. Ein Sitzriese eben... :lol: :lol:

Wenn du das Freddie Mercury Tribute meinst, ich schätze nicht. Dafür sieht Roger auf diesen Bilder ein wenig älter aus. Außerdem war er beim Tribute auch ganz ander gekleidet. Sieht für mich nach einem Konzert von Mitte/Ende der 90er aus. Kann mich aber auch irren.

Ja, Anja...das Freddie Mercury Tribute meinte ich...aber nicht das Konzert selber. Sondern die Rehearsals dafür...falls überhaupt welche stattgefunden haben.
Also kann man nicht nach der Kleidung gehen.
Aber wenn du meinst, dass an Roger zu erkennen, dann wäre es vermutlich doch ein anderes Konzert. Und dann frage ich mich: Wo sind die Aufnahmen davon??? ;-) Sowohl Audio, wie Video würde mich ja brennend interessieren.
Genauso wie der TV-Auftritt in Indien, mit Roger, Robert + Jimmy...würde ich zugerne mal sehen...

Die Örtlichkeit in der diese Bilder aufgenommen wurden, ist zwar nur verschwommen im Hintergrund, aber wenn mich nicht alles täuscht, scheint das die Halle zu sein, in der die Rehearsals für das FM Tribute stattfanden.

Aha, danke Micha. Jetzt gerade sehe ich auch, dass Robert auf beiden Bildern dieselbe Hose (und Gürtel) trägt ;-) Also werden beide Fotos von dem Rehearsal sein.
Dann wird es vermutlich davon doch keine Aufnahmen geben. Zumindest werden keine in Umlauf sein...schade :-(

Ich kann´s auch nicht gucken... :cry: Hätt´s gern mal gehört. :( Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass das richtig geil klingt, weil ich denke, dass Roger wie gemacht für das Lied ist, ich denke das passt zu seiner Stimme. :)

Ich kann sie vergrößern.
Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass sie in einem Pop-Up-Fenster geöffnet werden? Wenn du einen Pop-Up-Blocker aktiviert hast, Wolfgang, geht das nicht. Da erscheint oben dann ne Leiste, wo steht, die und die Popups wurden geblockt udn da musst du auf Einstellungen oder so und Popups erlauben, dann geht es.
Mich würden die Aufnahmen übrigens echt interessieren. :roll:

Roger Taylor: my drumming heroes were guys like Mitch Mitchell [of the Jimi Hendrix Experience] and Keith Moon and Bonzo [Led Zeppelin's John Bonham]. When England had The Who and Zeppelin, we had the two finest rock 'n' roll bands in the world. No one could touch them.
Listening to bands such as Led Zeppelin and The Who, then, musicianship must have been very important to Queen when you were starting out…
How competitive were Queen back in those early days?
Roger: Very [emphatically]. Any band from that era that says they weren't competitive were either liars… or the Incredible String Band. We were always like, Shit, I wish we could be where Led Zeppelin are.

RT: They didn't do singles. They didn't do Top Of The Pops, and I always think it's quite ironic that Top Of The Pops had a very bad version of one of their songs as it's theme tune.
MR: Yeah.
RT: But, no, it's a nice one.
MR: I mean, they were one of the classics. I mean, you know, they had it all really, didn't they - the sort of the leonine rock god lead singer and the guitar hero.
RT: Yeah.
MR: The quieter bass player ...
RT: Yeah.
MR: ... and the monster drummer?
RT: Absolutely.
MR: They had all the ingredients you need for great...
RT: They really all came together, you know. I don't know if it's fortuitous, but it was an awesome combination.
MR: Yeah, and as a drummer, I mean I think anybody that plays the drums, it's sort of generally acknowledged that Bonham, he was the best there ever was, wasn't he?
RT: Absolutely the guv'nor, yeah. I think a drummer that, a rock drummer that will tell you otherwise is, should be playing the guitar. (chuckle)
MR: I mean, cos it is that, it was that combination of great technique but with brute force, wasn't it, and real energy?
RT: I mean he had power, dexterity, everything. Technique to burn and all the power and ferocity.
MR: Sickening, wasn't it.
RT: It was. (laughing) First time I heard him, yeah, I was with Freddie, actuallly, and we nearly fell out. I think it was seated in those days. We nearly fell out of our seat.
MR: Yeah.
RT: Frightening.
MR: Yeah.
RT: Very good.

They, they know - I guess in a strange way they come from the same place that I did, because they grew up on all the stuff that I loved, like Zeppelin and The Who and stuff.

The lyrics used to go, 'Lover, you never believe me', and Fred later turned it into `Liar, you never believe me' (which appeared on Queen's debut album). It was almost the same tune. But not quite. In fact it was similar to 'Communication Breakdown', they used to rip off Led Zeppelin a lot."

He was also the most powerful drummer I'd ever seen. Led Zeppelin was actually more popular in America than they were in England, you know. You had to be a drummer to realise how good John Bonham actually was. The average person on the street couldn't really know the difference between John Bonham and the next flashy heavy metal merchant or whatever.
Robert Santelli: Why is that?
Roger: The average person can't understand the subtleties of drumming or just how difficult some of the things he used to do were.
Robert Santelli: At the time, how much of an influence did he have on you and your drum style?
Roger: A lot. I think there are a bunch of drummers in bands today who are nothing but poor Bonham copies. There are so many, and have nothing of their own style. It's just John Bonham's style, but unfortunately they can't come close to his sound.
Robert Santelli: What did you do to prevent becoming a John Bonham copy?
Roger: Well, I didn't want to sound like him because I knew there was no point in sounding like someone else even back then in those days. This is true no matter how much you admire what they do. So I just tried to incorporate certain aspects of his style into my own.
Robert Santelli: Anything in particular?
Roger: Well, obviously the bass drum. I mean, he invented the whole school of playing the bass drum in a heavy manner. I learned so much just by listening to the first couple of Led Zeppelin albums.
Zitat: As with all of the first four albums, Queen II would be produced in conjunction with Roy Thomas Baker. Baker provided the technical studio expertise, the band the musical wherewithal and an array of I influences. The most obvious musical leads were taken from The I Beatles, The Who and Led Zeppelin.

Roger: Well, years ago I used to play them a lot. But ever since we've become successful, I almost never play them. I don't really practice, but I know I should. Die Antwort wird nein sein. Es sind so viele Konzerte und Set-Lists bekannt. Und es gibt auch viele Reviews, etc. Das wäre schon längst mal bekannt geworden.

The 59-year-old told Collins he was "re-born both personally and professionally" at the studios after the break-up of LED ZEPPELIN, following the death of drummer John Bonham.
He said: "After all that wild stuff, and momentum, this was an absolute dream, because it was pastoral, funny, and it had a history, the place itself was a bit more passive than any kind I'd ever been in."

The Darkness sind ganz gut!
So wie der Sänger muss man erst mal singen können. Stimmlich hat der weder Freddie noch Robert nachgemacht. Hat zwar ne ziemliche Kopfstimme, aber Freddie hat die anders eingesetzt.
Optisch hat er sich dann schon eher a weng was abgeschaut, besonders von Seiten Freddies. :wink:
Die Gitarrenarbeit von dene is aber echt gut, sowas muss man heutzutage erst mal finden! Ich fand, die haben einen richtigen Lichtpunkt unter dem dargestellt, was man heute so an Schrott alles findet.
