I'm probably a bit slow. However, I just noticed on the official posting for the cancelled Stoke-On-Trent concert, they have given the tour the title of SIMPLY RED LIVE EUROPEAN TOUR.
Now, I wonder if this title is any indication of what might be included in the new album? What the content of the concerts will be? Live? :lol: Sorry. :oops:
It is getting very close to the first concert, only 6 weeks, yet we have absolutley no details on the release date or content of the new album.
How can they expect us (sorry, you) to embrace and sing along with the band if they leave the release of the album to close to the concerts?
We have all attended concerts in the past of other bands who do concerts ONLY to sell their new albums and the audience don't know the content, to join in, hence they don't get complete enjoyment. I know I get more pleasure out of singing along and hearing the live version, having some familiarity of the content.
I'm sure the band are extremly busy, caught up with rehearsals and the like at this point in time. Surely admin aren't also caught up in rehearsals, that they can't give us a heads up on the new album.
Am I on my own with these thoughts? How do you like to hear and see at your live concerts?

So this will be...the European Tour, 2006. But what will be on the front, I wonder...
Also a bit concerned over the lack of news on the album...I mean, if it has to be delayed, it has to be delayed--the creative process absolutely cannot be rushed if one is to make a best effort--but then just TELL us. We can handle it. Really. :-D
As far as what I like at shows--yeah, for the SR ones, I love being able to sing along note for note, especially when I'm joined in chorus by thousands of people--it's a crazy buzz. The music lends itself to that. It just depends on the tuneage--I figure at the Marcus Miller concerts I'm going to, I'm probably just going to be frozen in place, with my jaw on the floor, going "Holy S#!T, how does he do that????" :D But his music is mostly instrumental and thus more suited for just listening...and watching that amazing slap technique of his...
...whereas SR concerts tend to feel like a big party--everyone dancing, singing along...it's always nice to know the material beforehand.
*sigh* Not much in a position to complain, though, I'm getting to see 4 shows this summer, so even if they throw in some new blood, I'll probably recognize it by the time Liverpool comes 'round. And even getting to see as much as one show is more than a good number of members here are getting this time out...yourself included, Pat...unless you've said 'sod the kitchen repairs, I'm going to Montreux'?? 8)
C'mon, Pat, let's admit it...this stuff drives us nuts, but we keep coming back for more. They've got us over a barrel. *laughs*

yup, not easy to share the music when it's not out there to share.

Just quietly, :lol: yes, I am still considering Montreux. :) It is not yet off the radar.
Devil on one shoulder nearly encouraged me to booked frequent flyers to Montreux yesterday. Then the angel on my other shoulder said, where are you getting the money for accomodation/food/spending from?
Totally, totally agree *laughing hard*, yes it does drive me nuts and I still keep coming back for the best music in the world. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Can't believe how close those concerts are now...you'd never know it looking at how much I've packed for my move...NOTHING.... :oops:
Still, no matter what the content, I'm gonna be there, and I'm gonna let 'em know I'm in da hizzouse. :wink: Just won't be able to sing along to some songs at first.

just finished and my was a Smythwicks (Smiddix prounounced)
on tap at the local....
a nice smoothe dark one with a bit of froth as a halo on top.
nice day it was with full sun and blue sky sitting outside on a deck.
(burp)
ok now Mark wants a burping contest with me....
(of course, he won)
Oh how those oak barrels look so pretty....
how many are there, they are getting blurry and multiplying....
Find one of those old Three Stooges short films....
one of the funniest ones is with the beer barrels...
rolling down the stairs....

Taking requests for pictures, stuff to pick up, whatever... :D ...pics will probably not be forthcoming until fall as for some reason photo kiosks hate my digital camera's memory card (got 1 GB memory in there), and won't be on my own computer until then--though I AM taking it to my bro's for some tuneup...maybe I should just bring the peripherals as well...then I could do all this from his place in August...*thinks*
Lemme get back to ya on that. :lol:
(Main problem would be getting it back to Illinois.)

Everyone tell my brother how much he rocks...I have my computer at my bro's for tune-up now, and I brought along all the peripherals to use it, 'cause he said he'd bring it back to Illinois for me in September. (Cool move #1.) Not only can I upload my piccies back to my glowbox...
...but he's got me on his Internet as well, so I can send 'em all out!!! (Cool move #2.)
